Jsb jumbo redesigned version FX 25.4 22cal

JSB makes FX pellets. FX may have an entire line of machines pressing pellets with variations in each machine. Theoretically, FX takes the output from one or two machines, hopefully being more consistent.

However, after weighing large batches of both JSB and FX brands of pellets, the weight distribution seems exactly the same. I'd say they are exactly the same pellets.

I could be and I ain't saying it is a fact but maybe the lead has a different amount of antimony or other ingredient. Is there a way to check the Brinell hardness? Would it even make a difference? I too have looked closely and weighed pellets of each supplier and can see no difference and they both have the same accuracy and weight consistency. I also get the same accuracy shooting the JSB .25 cal 33.95gr heavies and almost the same accuracy with no tuning shooting the JSB knockout 33.49 gr slugs. FX impact M3

I've shot several hundred MRD both JSB and FX unsorted from my Prophet out to 100 yards. At first, it appeared the FX held tighter groups. Not by much but by enough. Later testing proved to be inconclusive. Also know, some barrels may be more selective as to head size weight etc., as well as speed being a contributing factor of accuracy comparison.

And along those lines, I've shot the JSB and FX in the 10.34 from my S500 FT and the FX are superior to the JSB.

Regardless, you have to test your guns, your ammo. Going off someone else's findings may prove folly.

Measured at 0.049 from a friend's Labradar when shot at 850fps from a traditionally rifled, non-choked LW barrel. I think the elevation is around 3000 feet at his place.

At 875fps I had to use 0.055 in Strelok to get predicted trajectory out to 130 yards to match actual trajectory, but that's at 5700 feet above sea level. When shooting down around 2000 feet above sea level it's not quite as flat.

The range is probably something like 0.048 when they're in the high 800s from a regular land and groove barrel, and potentially up to 0.058ish if they're really rocking up around 1000fps from a polygonal barrel. I think something like 0.05 is a pretty reasonable starting point for the MRD.
