JST Aircuda MAX regulator fix.

I've never had a regulated gun so I'm totally ignorant on the matter,

Yesterday I noticed the Regulator gauge was showing same pressure as the airtank gauge so I filled the gun to 250 BAR and to make sure it's was not the gauge I tried to shoot with the Hammerspring completely backed off, and sure enough I got definite valve lock with 2 extremely slow shots.

So I turned the Hammerspring at max and she shot fine basically like an unregulated gun,......I could just leave it at that and I would be completely happy but on the other hand this could be the perfect situation to learn how to work on regulators.

I will take any tips, instructions and so forth, will listen and then try see if I can do something about it.

Thanks in advance to anyone that is willing to contribute.

I’ve had the one on my fx and the dar gen2 I used to have out and both are pretty straight forward. Once out of the air tube the reg itself pops apart and the orings are readily accessible. I’m not sure about tearing into the shim stack and springs themselves though. Did the reg ever work or is this straight out of the box? I know the guy that heads up these jts guns is on here and GTA but can’t think of his user name. Hopefully he will come in here. If this is straight out of the box maybe it is just a setting issue. Maybe the reg is just opened wide and the screw needs to be tightened down and backed out to the proper setting??

I haven't seen a picture of the regulator but the symptom sounds like the O-ring on the adjuster has failed. A failure there will allow air to bypass the valve seat and produce equal pressure on both sides of the regulator.

If one of the two O-rings on the piston were to fail, air will simply leak to the outside world.
Ok thanks,...guess best thing to do is just open the gun up and ask questions as I go taking pictures ?
