JTS JTS AIRACUDA STANDARD .22 Owners!

Broke out Chrony today to see what my new “Strangler” would give me. I used the already on hand 18.13 JSB that my Talon SS hated. Hammer full 3 turns out with flow on 5 wide open.

Only did three clips for this “hunting curve” All 30 inside a penny but don’t think squirrel would care? Target shows clip 1 and clip 3 only. Shots pulled in clip 3 trying to follow black marker aim point. I did three separate chrony logs to break down the non regulated shot spread.

I did receive two clips that have white dot on them to monitor when near empty, heakava spring on them, no?

I found out today, that My JTS doesn't like the Cheap Pellets! LOL One ragged hole with the 18.1 JTS Domes, but the Crosman Priemer's and the Daisy Pellets look like a Shotgun pattern. Speed made no difference.
Should have stated ... Crosman DOMES, not the cheapo Tin HP's. Tho my STD is an early pre production 1st release demo rifle.

For an entry level airgun, these AirCuda's and Aircuda Max's, sure do grab my attention!
Powerful, and from what others say...very accurate as well!

I am not one of those great shooters like many here are, but here is 10 shots on the left and 5 shots on the right. Both at 30 yards. I have done Nothing to the rifle except install My scope. I hope it stays this good! Lol

hahaha my bad i thought 10 yds. not to shaby! . ok guys you try to shoot chps at 900 + prob. not gonna have much luck. turn your hammer spring all the way out, setting # 4 and it will SHOOT the lighter pellets much better and huge amount of shots. dont need all that power. shot springers for years and got a million squriels with .22s goin 700--730 blast right thru them. tune it down and you'll love!!! ps. mine loves chps and crossman premier domes at this setting. the best are HN 14.66's.

Yep, working at longer range hunting curves for now. My little 12"Talon SS rips em up at the lower plastic Notos speeds. Old habit of making the first shoot count, no? I have an old box of HN/Kodiak humongous .22 bricks that night work in the Airacuda. But understand that wasting air is not everything, 14gr are in the cabinet so future fun down the road. cheers

EI’ve got on, and at 4 power with the hammer spring flush, it shoots the cheap Crosmans and the JSB 14.3s to the same POI. I get about 865fps for about 60 shots.
You and Josh777 reported the same, this is good news for my tins of Crossmans. My old Disco still having issues with these so spending some time there. Thx for heads up.

My Mac1 Disco hated 14.3s… but love the 18 grain pellets.

I wanted to tune the Airacuda specifically to shoot the CHP… because they’re only $7/500 at Walmart. It shoots them ok on power setting 3, but still shoots the 14.3 H&N really well at that setting.

Here’s 4 consecutive 5 shot groups at 20 yards (down my hallway) with the 14.3 at setting 3.

Had a blast yesterday. Sort of a pun. I started with 2”spiners at 58 yards, got bored, then put 5 shots into 6” red circle on Carlos’s splatter target at 100 yards. I’m still zeroed at the 58 yard mark, got lazy so placed scope horizontal even with top of square target just to see for first ranging shot; which was 9 o’clock near middle 4 inches outside of the 6” red circle. Leveled scope then started printing inside circle, with my new 18 gr.JTS. I’m hitting about 995- 1000 fps at muzzle with my same settings on my posted chrony readings. Curious what velocity and FPE would be at 100 yards? Lol, Carlos loves gadgets..got to talk him into a radar chrony.

No wind, very warm and muggy on Carlos’s new homestead in southern Mississippi. Next month will bring crow sized targets. No real crows but very old 600 lb alligator pulled previous week after Carlos called Picayune Mississippi game warden. .22 pellets would have pissed gator off?

Carlos was racing to get his new $800, with stamp, Switchback silencer attached to his CZ .22 bolt action with big Vortex scope. Got to teach my $320 rifle a lesson over his near $2k worth of silencer, scope, rifle and box of sub-sonic ammo. Normal high speed ammo sounds like Star Wars!

Hope to get back there as soon as Carlos’s house and pond nears completion.

Really liking this rifle!
