JTS JTS Airacuda Standard Issues

Yep. My max did the exact thing. Twice within a month. They wouldn't just send me the part though. They insisted on doing the repair.
Seems to be a disconnect regarding JTS Warranty Service. They've quickly, without question or charge, shipped needed parts to me while others have been required to return for repairs. Possible were dealing with different entities such as Dealer Warranty Centers, as well as JTS Warranty Center. Also, possible JTS has had a change in policy regarding warranty parts and repairs. Difficult to say, at least there's a response to consumer problems. WM

Here's my shot-in-the-dark attempt to address "self-tightening" of valve spring surmising the sharp edge of spring is digging into plastic. SS washer is installed and spare one for visual reference. So far, no movement in valve spring cap thread depth with washer installed. WM

I did notice my valve spring digging into my replacement poppet, so that washer is a nice tweak.
Grouch-O posted a thread, "Modding a M60B (.35cal) ..." yesterday which included a picture of the valve system. Appears Snowpeak also included a washer between spring and plastic so maybe there's something to it. WM

What size washer did you use?
Just found in washer collection can, needs to fit somewhat snug over 3.85mm (.15") plastic tab and at least .317" diameter to cover where spring sits. Larger than .317 is OK, you can see mine overhangs a little in photo. Used SS for corrosion resistance but smear of silicone grease on non-SS would work. Thickness of washer shouldn't matter. WM

Okay. Thanks for the info. I think I will try that when I get mine back from JTS.

Remember the spring narrows down and snug fits on that 3.85mm wide tab so sharp tip, that digs into plastic, will be close to tab, that's why snug fitting washer is important. Don't think washer is rare, found a number of them easily in can. WM
