JTS JTS Airacuda "std" Custom is finally shooting fantastic !!

This JTS "Standard" started as one of the original "Testers" from about 3 years ago.
The internals have been a work in progress now having a Cobra valve w/ peek poppet, SSG devise and regulated too.
Full Blue print job, Trigger work etc rounded out the action modifications.
Glass an old school Hawke Varmint 2.5-10x42 1/2 mil having short eye relief perfect with the shorter LOP stock has.
The fitting of the JTS into an RH vintage Diana 75 stock done a few years ago & it turned out looking and fitting as if a factory offering ... So nice :giggle:

OEM barrel was ok, but wanted match grade accuracy as all the previous work had the mechanical functioning just stellar being smooth and very low vibration.
Was using a KARMA .22 test barrel in it last year and while much better, still lacked what I knew rifle was capable of ..... So In went a RAW .22 cut rifling barrel at @ 23" w/ air stripper and a tensioned shroud having barrel held Very stiff !
It shoots near hole in hole inside 40y and still stacks em out to @ 80y using JSB 15.9's at @ 940 fps. The transfer choke knob still allows throttling the output down to the mid 500 fps range or anyplace in between.
On a 200 bar fill we are getting 5 mags ( 50 shots ) under regulation so the efficiency is quite good. Noise on just a shroud is a modest pop, screw on a moderator it gets shockingly quiet.

Previous thread with 1st barrel trial:
Airacuda maximised
Some other internal tweaks since has found another mag ( 10 ) shots in efficiency.

Love that stock, looks great. I did have a condor branded 75 a few years ago. I let it go to a new owner after fixing the recoil system.
What’s your take on the triggers in these rifles? I’ve read some mixed reviews.
Production rifles had better quality sears and adjusted a tad crisper. Issue with all is the heavy springs ( X2 ) used in the trigger group. Lighter wire springs makes a world of difference IMO.

Damn I'm neurotic

After shooting @ 100 pellets today threw the JTS .... I need better glass !!
All my great glass scopes have to long of eye relief .... So, went digging threw the not used scopes & rings finding what I wanted on a stashed away scope.
Found a 30 moa Low Cantilever 30mm mount that would work, but mount sits flush onto the Pic rail full length and magazine would have a bit of interference :cautious: So out comes the dremel and some metal removal making a small slot/smile relief cut at magazine area. No substantial weakening of material removed & all good.
Some satin black paint to cover the bare aluminum & Done !!

From there we install a 30mm AZTEC 3-18x50 SFP scope getting perfect eye box positioning & eye relief ( Was pre tested prior to modifying mount ) get it cant free squared up and go sight it back in 20-80 yards and proof no cant was present.
I like this a lot better for open field pesting / target work. Much much brighter and clearer glass too.

Played with JSB 18.1's a bit during re-sight in, at @920 fps equally as if more so accurate ? ... just damn accurate with this barrel no matter what I'm feeding it.
