JTS JTS’ FX Wildcat with plenum over barrel + their version of the FX King at Shot Show 2024 (they beat FX by putting a plenum over barrel in a bullpup)

Disappointed that it's not coming out until fall.
Hopefully then. Remember the brawn was showcased last year at shot and we are still waiting a year later. They showcased it again this year. I am truly interested in that much cheaper looking fx king copy gun though. Depending of course on how much cheaper it is. I also don’t buy that jts builds them better. Laughable, I have an Airacuda max and while a great 400 dollar gun there is nothing built better on it than a fx. That’s for sure. Wish they would release the price point on these new guns.

Doubt that, the Aircuda bends in half at the mag and pinches it, along with other issues. The worst was JTS’s response about it and this issue was identified in early testing and ignored.
I can assure you they don’t build them better than Fx. It’s a stretch especially seeing most of us haven’t even seen them other than on video.

I plan on getting the Barra 250 Z for sure.
I hope they dump a lot of time money and energy into making it a flagship Product.
I believe this will grow the industry and bring in new shooters. Maybe it's just me, but one thing that kept me away from Airguns for far too long was thinking of them as ugly, and just dorky toys incapable of accuracy, power, and lethality. It wasn't until I saw Ted's holdover with a Benjamin discovery .22 talking about and producing real results for an outdoorsman, that I considered buying one. That Benjamin disco was the beginning of the end :ROFLMAO:
Either way, if they perfect the 250 Z with a decent shot count, , high end trigger, High FPE, and accuracy I think it will be a big winner. Only time will tell.

This is not the first time I have heard of this.
I have heard of this before...
Is it the Aircuda, Aircuda Max, or both?
Did this happen to you?
If so, I am courious what was JTS's response, in terms of warranty repair?
Was there a fix for it?

Air over barrel...
Certainly seems like a new trend in airguns moving forward.

Fx has the Panthera, King, Dynamic, and DRS variants.
JTS has the Stealth Hawk, Thunder Lance, and Shylock.
Barra has the 250Z

Most use the plenum over barrel.
DRS utilizes the reservoir over barrel.
Stealth Hawk uses BOTH plenum AND reservoir over barrel.

It will be interesting to watch each version of technology, and see how well they all perform as far as consistant accuracy.
what does the Barra have?

I dont anything about it, other than video from the Shot Show.
It uses a reservoir over barrel design, but since its still a prototype, I suppose things could change.
yes like where did they hide it 🤣 I kept wondering about the FX Drs pro with the different magazine look alike pelenium.. seems like it might be a good idea of they were interchangeable like a magazine for different things, like short range pellets vs long range heavy slugs.. but I think it could be a issue depending on how it was designed, someone might blow it out the bottom of charged instead of empty.. just like most regulator pressure adjustment down the gun needs to be degassed.. sometimes people can mess up something simple..

This is all speculation on my part, but:
From what I understand, the plenum on the DRS will be modular, leaving the user with differnt plenum options.
The DRS is offered in 3 caliber sizes...
I assume that FX will offer different size plenums for each caliber, and perhaps even 2 options in each caliber for different weight projectiles (pellet vs. slug).
Since the DRS is offered in 3 differnt calibers, we could see perhaps 6 different plenum options...maybe more?
Again, this is all just speculation on my part.
We should know for sure, in about 29 28 days!

well you seem pretty sure we might see something soon.. I don't know seems like I got one of the second batches of umarex notos because I wasn't willing to pay for preorder.. and if I remember correctly it was a year after shot show it became available.. or it seems like that.. and they changed it too, was supposed to be a pistol or a little carbine.. and I guess lots of people like it, I now understand why it came out as a carbine and then it was not too much to get the factory pistol grips and open sights.. I have not handled this style before, I got it for a pistol with open sights but they made the moderator permanently attached to the barrel and it was a 22" long pistol.. maybe someone else can buy I couldn't shoot it freehand without resting the air tube on something.. so I finally got mine done, I shortened the barrel 4" and recrown and put a moderator in the shroud, lost around 100 fps but I didn't change adjustments just shortened the barrel.. but the moderator insert is so much quieter than the factory one and I thought the factory was quiet.. and it shoots a lot more accurate.. but I thought it was good from the factory.. possibly it didn't happen to have a good crown.. I don't know, just so much better now..
never planned on putting the stock it came with on but just to do it I took off the grips and slipped the stock on.. and it is impossible to get your eyes low enough to see the open sights.. so it would be a scope or red dot..
but I'm happy with it now.. although if I could get the air tube shortened I'd shorten it up to 12", currently it's 15.5 but a lot more manageable than 22" pistol.. I think it's why it didn't come both ways, I think they realized that with the moderator permanently attached people wouldn't really like it as a pistol.. and well if you have a stock on it you can't use the open sights..
so much can change even between the prototype show one and the final product.. look how they discontinued the bolt action gauntlet gen 2 and went to all side lever..

A 22" pistol would be a handful!
Nice job with making it shorter!
I agree with the Barra....Still too early to tell.
I think we will see the DRS roll out very soon!
