Sacramento Valley Field Target Club is GROWING with our membership and participation levels growing monthly. Saturday was a foretasted +/- 100* day having many of our regulars staying home or up in the cooler mountains with family for the weekend. YET we still had 26 shooters attend this months match ! When we finger count what regulars were not present we would have easily eclipsed 30 ... WOW !
Ok, the match.
As keeper of the targets & match director got up early and on site at 7:00am to make a major run at getting the set up done & match started timely and finished by noon. By the time the first folks were rolling in had 9 of the 12 lanes set w/strings out. Another 15 min or so we had our 12 lane 50 shot course ready for the pending assault. ( Done by 8:00am )
Check in was started and after signing in and filling out your score card allowed to go practice on the supplied paper targets scattered at differing ranges. As the next hour rolled by we just kept getting more folks with that trend getting on site and folks looking to find a close in parking space as we eclipsed the 9:00 hour. WHOA full house and whole lot of able & willing shooters !
Safety meeting, some more conversation of the SVFTC hosting the 2019 California State Field Target Championship in Morro Bay this September, Some questions from the 5 NEW shooters & we're off and shooting !
With 12 lanes and 26 shooters we had ALL Lanes full with 2 squads of 3. ( generally we run 13-15 lanes which would accommodate 30 shooters in pairs )

As the match was winding down we had Lunch set out with meat/cheese wraps, Fruit salad and cookies. That done all still present went out into the scorching sun and did a speedy tear down of the course.
So there we have it ANOTHER very successful club match of the SVFTC. A Big Thank You to all who came out, shot a very deceptively hard course hopefully having FUN the whole time ! those present breaking it all back down having us DONE by 1:00 as planned.
** Next months ( August Match ) will be on SUNDAY the 25th at the YOLO shooting facility in Davis. Looking forward to seeing you all again then ! Be safe, Shoot Straight until next time.
