Hi there

Just joined, hope I can be of help to some of you people on here.

Retired now, but for 40 years I worked on projectile flight and aeroballistics of gun projectiles of all kinds, from grenades doing 40m/s up to orbital gun launched rockets. Carried out a lot of work on pellet and slug analysis from 1990 onwards.

Some of you may have seen some of my posts on other forums.

Welcome to AGN!

We welcome anyone with knowledge who is willing to share it.

Just be aware, that there are folks here who are really knowledgeable about ballistics, etc, when it comes to airguns, etc.

I am not one of them, but I like to think I know something about my particular situation. (smile)

Anyway, welcome to AGN and I hope you find it as useful a place as I have for airguning information!

A new voice of intelligence are always welcome.

Well aside for the one i hear in my head pretty much every night when i lie in my bed desperately trying to fall asleep :)
Fortunately that voice are not asking strange things of me, just incessantly kick up old memories or insist on pressing the same irrelevant stupid thing over and over for 5 - 10 hours.

Miles - where did you work at? Any of the larger bombing ranges?

I worked in the UK equivalent of BRL, called RARDE in those days. We used to work with BRL and exchange data, which was where I was communicating with Bob McCoy and others in the external ballistics department. Of course, the external ballistics department does not exist any more at BRL, and neither does RARDE.

That’s awesome! I’m sure that was a fun career. Welcome
The first 20 years was, the second 20 years not so much. Standing in the North Sea, with water up to above your knees, in January, with the wind hitting you as the first vertical object it has found since leaving the North Pole, is not so much fun and makes you think of an alternative career.
