RTI Just me? RTI Prophet II & cycling

I have done this about 3 times with one instance ending up in a double feed. User operation error yes, know your airgun, but for some reason its more likely with this RTI Prophet. Sometimes when I think the cocking lever is all the way forward and locked, it is not. The RTI will still fire when the lever is not fully forward which pops the lever back and not enough pressure to send the pellet or slug down range. I have not owned a lot of PCP's yet, but wonder if the 'lock-up' happens earlier in others compared to the Prophet? Maybe its Just Me. 🤷‍♂️

No engineer degree here, but seems the airgun should not fire unless locked. Guess they figure the user will catch on with a few malfunctions. My noggin must be a little thick. :)

For what it’s worth I’ve never had the issue or any issues with feeding on my P2 performance.. if I remember correctly there is some sort of adjustment rod for the cocking lever and I’d bet yours needs a bit of adjustment.

You are dealing with a RPB barrel. Chambering a pellet or slug can have some notchy resistance. These guns are made well enough that you don’t have to handle them with kid gloves. Close the cocking lever like you mean it. You are wrecking the insides of your gun firing it with the cocking lever ajar.
