Just messin around

I’m so pleased you’re happy with the 65. I was certain you would only need a shot or two, to realize what a fine rifle it is. Thanks for saving me from myself…good luck with your “competition “ John
The Giss guns really are a modern marvel.
About as close to a single stroke pneumatic or pcp gun as you can get. Too bad they are so technical to rebuild for most. If you get the chance I'd recommend one. It would still be with me had it had an adjustable comb , I couldn't get myself to butcher an adjustable comb kit into that piece of walnut

Fortunately for me, I own a number of GISS guns…the 65, and 75 HV are my favorites. The pistols are cool too…however I’m a rifleman at heart. I shoot mine with iron sights, so the stocks on both work well for me…however…should I ever decide to mount an optical sight on the 65, I would install an adjustable cheek piece…Very Carefully. I was hoping someone who didn’t have one would buy it and love it, before I gave in and bought it. Thanks for the shout out. John

I got my new to me 853 today. I have the flu and cannot even get out of bed. But I did manage to sight in the Daisy 853. Replaced the rear sight with an Avanti from the 753. I am shooting from 15 feet seated and it’s a great shooter. I’ll be having fun with his all winter.

Got on the chronograph and did a ten shot spread. I don’t mind the trigger and I’ll lighten it up if I have to go in for something else. But it’s OK for now. Shoots a big old hole in the center of the target. This will be so much fun to score ten shot cards with. It is shooting 8.49 Field target sports at 450 fps. I have to dig around and see if I can find some lighter ones.
I guess this is OK for an old gun. I did clean the barrel

Well heck you posted pics of the targets , but not of the rifle.
Be proud post some pics. Lol.
I had to go on the Google search too see what it looked like. Found a beat up used one for $200. Was that a Daisy hole punch. Lol Post those pics of it.
OldVet wants to see.
It is a nice looking gun. I was going to clean up and refinish the stock but
Decided to leave it alone and keep its history and scars.

It has significnatly exceeded them!

I have never shot a recoiless springer before so my surprise when I fired the 1st shot can not be overstated. Superb trigger, buttery smooth action, zero recoil & only the slightest auggestion of vibration. It was truly love at 1st shot :)

I havent made more than a handful of shots in my basement so far but I am taking the rest of the year off so plan to do some significat shooting tomorrow. Its supposed to cool off tonight & be in the mid 30's tomorrow. A little chilly but not enough to keep me off my range. I will find out what pellets she likes & get her zeroed to be minute of chicken for the upcoming shooting competition

Its supposed to be in the mid 50's & clear next week so fine wheather to hand my boy his ass with the Diana & I am looking forward to it!
nice gun

Thanks but it is resting on a bipod 15 feet away. Not so much errors but I can see the pellets are going where I’m aiming when I pull the trigger. With the Express 7.0 pellet I was aiming and they were hitting like flyers. These hit and right away I can tell it’s me. Meisterkugeln 8.2 should be close enough to the ten your old R-10 match plus.

I have this butt hook that has always been a little small. It looked kinda added on to my HFT-500. So I have a larger one coming that has more adjustments and a wider face. It fits the contour of the stock .
So I mounted this little one on my 853. I think the size looks right. It’s not a giant thing hanging off the back. It feels nice and adds a little needed reach. I can see why it would be illegal in competition. I can literally hang the rifle between my shoulder and the shooting sticks and hold it on target. It definitely feels like cheating.
