Tuning Just received my Impact. 30 superior barrel kit

I have a question for impact owners. 

Is it normal that the brass part with air port is not screwed al the way in you can see the thread on the barrel. Also the oring in that groove is 1.5mm thick and the other is thicker about 2mm.On my original. 22 barrel both orings looks the same size.

As far as O-ring sizes I just read somewhere the older and newer ones are different. Actually I heard it on one of Ernest's videos last night concerning installation of a new transfer port. I think it is this one.

Thanks Healthservices those are some new design ports i am more concerned about my new one that should not look like this especially with amount of money we pay for those barrel kits. For less money then Fx barrel kit with magazine i could get brand new Air Arms s410 today. Now all i have is one deffective barrel.

I believe he is working on a .30 and if you take a look at the picture there is a gap, but his O-ring is actually covering the threads itself.

I have 4 barrels in .177, .25 and .30. Only the .30 has any play in the o-ring, and it is not near what you have there, all of the others are snug at both sides.

Looks like you got it figured out though.

Look inside of the breech port to see if the barrel does not have a gap between it and the brass transfer port. If it does not have a gap then you are good there.

It would be best to put a second o-ring on there, even if is a smaller diameter, to take up the.space so the proper sized o-ring sits on the sealing surface. There is a possibility of the single o-ring staying on the threads which will allow air blow by at the shot.

I was also worried about air blast past oring but it seems to work like that.

Marko, I would say it is not screwed in all the way being the threads are exposed. Yes, there is always an uncomfortable gap, and the O-rings are of different sizes, which is normal, but that gap appears to be excessive compared to mine. I have the exact same setup. All I did was put a 1mm CS O-ring in front of mine and it filled the gap up nicely and stood the O-ring up straight. It doesn't look like that would work in your case. What I used was a .25 cal OD liner O-ring. Whatever that size is as the filler. It barely fits the gap I had.

I also tried to tighteen it more but i think loctite prevents that.

As long as you are happy...Did you check it against a loaded projectile to see if it cleared the port completely, That's the important part. Old Loctite is typically the cause of one not screwing in all the way. The threads have to be fully cleaned and a test run done before applying more Loctite for a final install. There's no telling what the history is, even if new.

If if were mine, I would place it in a protective vise, hit the brass with a lighter for a few and unscrew it. Then clean up the threads and do a test run before applying more blue Loctite. That way you will know for sure it is all the way in. It's really easy, but takes a few minutes to do.

Maybe i will do that later right now it shoots as it should and i get good power and accuracy. You are right even if it is new you can't know history of this barrel.

You just want to make sure the projectile being used clears the port once chambered. If you chamber a load then pull the barrel real quick, that'll give you the answer when looking at the port.
