Today I spent about 3 hours on the range. I usually shoot 4 different rifles daily. Was out before 10 this morning. Temp 25F. but the sun was so warm I was overdressed. First rifle was a Diana K98 .22 cal. and since I shot it I can’t get it out of my mind. It was impressive. The reason I bought it originally was because it’s stamped Mauser.
Super heavy up front but I shoot off a bench so bonus.
Decent replica but the steel butt is a PITA for standing up by the door.
I find it amazing they would make castings for this 1 rifle.
But continue to make this mistake. I would pay more for metal and also put on a real front sight like the K98.
Before June I could hit this can 3-4 times out of 10 rounds. Had cataract surgery. Sm. can 30 yds. 10 shots 10 hits. Can is full of ice and snow. The disc beside is 4 inches. Super happy with the iron sights.
Then I went 33 yds. 2 in. sqares. Hit the first 2 and got so excited missed the third.
Didn’t see the spinners were already hit.
Decent wood fit pieces on the K98. No problem loading the .22 cal.
This gun hits like a hammer as well. I’m really happy with this K98. Great gun. I wish that how much thought went into this rifle, that they did to the rest of their current rifles.
Any one modify one these rifles?
