KalibrGun Cricket 2 Tactical 45 Wood Opinions Wanted

Yeah, there is a cheek rest. It's just not a pretty one !
The black plastic, is your cheek rest, nd works fine. On my Cricket II, anyway.

You can buy this if you want pretty, easily available -

Or you can paint, vinyl wrap, or make your own if you like.

I've got the Cricket II, Compact, only with a full stock on it. I find the black plastic to be suitable for me. I also just shoot little black dots on paper. I've thought of buying the wood cheek rest noted above a couple of times, but, can think of other places to put the money on more useful things.

Overall, yeah, it's a nice gun. A little trigger adjusting, find a pellet it likes, normally most guns like the JSB's in different weights.

Thanks for the advice.

Really nice gun. The cheek piece isn't a problem, I don't even think about it. I traded for one a couple of months ago with an AGN member and couldn't be happier. Its a fantastic shooter and isn't pellet picky. Mine is a .22 and I get around 90+ shots if I fill it to 300 bar. Mine is the 45 version.

Thanks for the info.

I currently have a Cricket II Long in 22 caliber. I used to have the Cricket in .177 and .25. All very accurate and reliable. Inserting the magazine is a little finicky, but you'll get used to it quickly. Charlie Frear at Georgia Airguns puts together a great package and tunes the guns to get the best performance from them. You won't be sorry.

How does it compare to the BroCock the BroCock Sniper was another one on my list. I'm liking the reviews regarding accuracy on the Cricket II.

I bought this the other day. In my infinite wisdom I bought the Cricket 2 without a way to fill it up. But it sure looks like eye candy.

Do you use a compressor or an SCBA tank? Any recomendations or things I should pay attention too?

Also has anyone tuned this for slugs? What slugs does she like? I have the .22. Using the 18g JSB.

I just bought a Cricket 2 Tactical 45 in .22 from TalonTunes about 2 weeks ago, I love this thing. It does require some love here and there. I use a compressor to fill the 350cc bottle. A 90ci tank just doesn't have enough to fill it to 300bar, I could fill it to 250, then 220, then 200, and so on down with the 90ci tank.

From a 300bar fill I get about 13 magazines before falling off the reg. I'm shooting 15.89 Hades at about 860fps. I know I can shoot a lot faster, because my hammer spring dial can still be turned 6 full turns clockwise.

I did try some slugs, I got some Nielsen 17.5 slugs in sizes .216 and .2165. The .216s shoots awesome when tuning hammer spring to shoot about 860-900fps, of course shot count is not going to be the same as the 15.89 Hades. You will need to adjust scope for POI shift, but it's slug on slug after that! The .2165s are a little tighter fit, but shoot about the same.

I did mention that this rifle requires some love, That's because the magazine system is kinda "special". I had cycling problems at first, but after loosening the screw that holds the magazine plunger, It started cycling a lot better, not perfect but much better (I can live with that). This rifle is a laser gun, I'm able to shoot baby pine cones off a tree 100+ yards away.

Build quality, I would say it's very nice. The best build quality PCP rifles I had were the Taipan Veteran Compact and the Edgun Lelya 2.0. Those 2 rifles right there are built like tanks! The Cricket 2 is not far behind, with the exception of the mag loading mechanism, I feel that may be the weak link.
But the Cricket 2 has a bottle, It's my first bottle gun, and with a DonnyFL Sumo It's very quite, even when cranked up to shoot slugs.

One gripe for me is the trigger, it's plastic??? Is it just my rifle, or all Cricket 2's trigger plastic? Again, since it's shooting so nice, I can live with it.

I have a cricket 2 tact 60 22 cal. I wonder if all the crickets are the same mechanism just different stock variations? I bought mine used and saved 500 bucks. Supposedly it was tuned by Charlie but I have yet to confirm it or any reason to doubt the seller! I want to build a laminate stock so why didn't I buy another variant that has a full stock? Are they the same rifles? I did build these walnut stock and grip for now.

The polishing job on the mags is Charlie? And I thought it was the finish wearing off. Wouldn't you polish the gear section? The gear is contact with the steel piece. That polished section does nothing as what I figure, it runs on the spring bearing to keep it cycling correctly, lined up! I'll take another look when home.

I bought two new mags that are twice hard coat anodized and allegedly stronger. The gear isn't stripped on them like the two factory ones.

There are a ton of different Kalibrgun models it looks like with different stock options, Again I'll take another look.

I got mine from Charlie a couple of weeks ago went down to see him at his shop at Georgia Airguns. I know he spends a considerable amount of time refining the indexing polishing the mag tuning etc.. He does that to all his guns be for they leave the shop. I actually considered the Talon Tunes deal as it was a bit cheaper. But I went with Charlie specifically because I knew he would make it as good as possible before it leff his shop. No regrets spending the extra $$ in getting it dialed in. Besides im a total nood and didnt want to mess with it right away. Im still in the honey moon phase. He basically tunes it so it fires great right out of the box. All I can say is mine is great. When I put the mag in as you know you do have to press down a little and slide the pin in. But honestly haven't had an issue yet with indexing or anything. Goes in nice and smooth. My only gripe is its heavy.

I will say using a hand pump to fill it to 280 bar sucks lol. I havent filled it to 300 yet.

How far do you let the regulator go before you fill it up again? What does it read. The 18g JSB Heavies are really good. Im gonna try some slugs soon. Im still getting it dialed in need to find some targets so I can dial in my groupings but but I'm tearing up spoons at 50-60 yds. As this is my first PCP in extremely impressed with its accuracy. Next step is to push out to 75-100yds and see what she can do. Then ill get a chronograph and start dialing in the slugs.

I agree, that polish does nothing but that is Frear’s work.
Excuse me Mr. zx10wall, but I have been told that you are an expert in cricket air gun. My Cricket 2 tactical 60 5.5mm just DOES NOT bundle WITH original jacketing (shroud). WITHOUT jacketed (shroud) groups wonderfully at 50 meters. I don't know what to do. Please, some help would be very much appreciated. Blessings.
