Karma sls vs aea sf same gun essentially?

Is it just me or besides the side lever action and the top pic rail and bottom tube rail are these guns not identical? I’m just curious because I was really thinking of making the purchase on the karma sls and when I starting looking into other guns I’ve noticed that the actual center of the gun where everything happens is basically the same gun when put side by side. So not to say that aea is bad or anything because I don’t think that but for the price point there more of a affordable option when I look at other pcps and from what it looks like is it’s just a aea platform with some cooler added on functional parts and the side lever which to most is a big deal. Not that it is to me but idk is it worth the extra $500.00. Putting this out there cause I still want this info for making my decision. Are the barrels better in the karma. Is one more acurate over the other because of the side lever? Idk I wouldn’t think that matters but I’m new to this so any help thanks

There was a collaboration between the two entities to design the SLS. Seemingly, they started with a Challenger and fixed its "quirks".
The gun has interested me so I've researched it a bit. Seems like a lot of folks are having difficulty getting the accuracy expected out of it. Personally I don't think it's worth it's price tag. For that kind of money, other guns come to mind that are proven to be accurate.

Yeah, from what I have researched, the trigger may be the issue for some folks used to light and smooth triggers. My understanding is that issue appears to be a necessary evil to make the semi-auto work (the way it's designed). For me, this gun seemed to fit what I needed it for. I had some unique needs to share a gun with my 12y/o son to use for our purpose. Primarily I am LH shooter and he is RH shooter. Semi-auto was appealing for that reason for us. I will look elsewhere for a competition gun if it gets to that.

Also, worth mentioning, and a big part of what went into my decision, is that it is a collaboration between two very reputable companies (Saber Tactical and DonnyFL). I felt they both make good products and both have reputations of caring about quality and standing behind their products.

I have the Karma standard .22 , out of the box the accuracy was Iffy at best I put It down to the trigger must have been around 4ibs ish the trigger Is none adjustable which for the price sux , anyway I found out that they used blue lock tight at the factory to hold the trigger screw In place which some how got Into the trigger group there Is a video out there showing you how to clean up the trigger by removing the lock tight ( I think the pellet shop cleans up the trigger before they ship em out ). I played around with the power settings on the gun now Im getting 1" groups at 65 yards with 18 g AEA pellets semi auto mode about a 2" group same distance . (y)

Btw DonnyFL and Saber Tactical are essentially the same company (or at least I’m 99% sure)
