AirMaks Arms Katran .177

I saw some issues with the Katran not regulating properly, and wanted to add my .02, so here's todays chrony session.
This is a Katran L (cylinder not bottle)
It goes off the reg, right around 100-110bar. I pumped it up to 240bar (it's rated for 300bar), and fired a full string over the chrony. This is not the first time I've chrony'd it, and I'm happy to say, poi and results were nearly identical to the last chrony/accuracy session. I used Benjamin black box single die 10.5 gr pellets.
80 shots
921 fps avg
9 es
.98 %es (yes that's point 98%)
1.91 stdev
I see a lot of talk on other forums saying a stdev of 5 is good, and a 40fps es is good yatta, yatta, yatta. I'm relatively sure they're "selling" guns and not reviewing them objectively. I don't have a pcp that can't keep es around 10 or slightly above, and stdev of less than 3fps. I also like the %es to be around 2% or less. I bought this .177 Katran from UA and couldn't be happier with it. The accuracy, even at this velocity is nothing short of amazing. This could well be my favorite .177 rifle. I've had not one single problem with it. It likes almost any ammo you feed it, in nearly any weight. With the reg set so low, I can't help that there is more power to use, should I want to go to heavier pellets. I've been meaning to see how fast I can get 13 gr JSB accurately, but it shoots so good with 10.5 I hate to mess with it.

So, if you have an inconsistent Katran, I'd be giving UA a call and see what they suggest as the gun is quite capable.

Not an owner, but I've been looking at the Airmaks Katran and Krait for awhile now.

What I've been able to glean is that the regulator issues were with the initial release. And that they subsequently partnered with Huma for the regulators on the Krait, and am not sure but maybe also the Katran.

Utah Air also carries an aftermarket Huma for the Krait and the Katran.

From what I've seen, I have the latest version of the Katran and I've had it for a while. I'm pretty sure the reg in it is a Huma, but haven't confirmed it. Whatever it is, it works, period. I also have an R10 Mk2 and these two are the most powerful .177 rifles I've ever had, and both seem to have a lot more to go in terms of power. I just don't know what the advantage is, as it might destroy accuracy if I go much more, we'll see.

I bought mine several months ago, and it was a rifle that UA used in a match to advertise the Katran and then sold as used, so I'm betting it is Huma. I've had several Huma reg'd guns, still have two or three, and they work like nothing I've ever seen. Currently I have an R10, Brck Sniper, and maybe another one with Humas in them, all will keep es pretty low.
