In the past, I have used chair leg stoppers to keep my connectors free of dirt and debris. Now I have these probes to worry about. It was about a $2.00 fix.
Some flexible 5/8'' ID plastic tubing and some 5/8 " nylon plugs to the rescue. Tubing and plugs also make for clean storage for the probes. I hope this helps.
