Keeping records ?

Watching an old TV show last night.

First guy - "How many guns do you have ?"
Second guy - "About ten."
First guy - "Do you have the serial numbers written down anywhere ?"
Second guy - "Yes, I do ."

I don't have the serial numbers of my air guns, written anywhere. Photos of all of them, Some photos show the serial numbers, but no details written on paper.
Do any of you keep written, recorded info on your air guns ?

I did when I had firearms, but "so far" not the air guns.
Maybe it might not be a bad idea !?

I take photos of all my equipment along with the serial number and a complete description. Print this information out and put it in a 3-ring binder. I also print out factory description and specification for every gun and scope. Just makes me feel better for "just in case" event.

That's an excellent idea. It goes back to "if it isn't written down, it never happened." They (my airguns) all have directories with photos and written notes.

Each of my airguns has it's own written record including serial number and modifications, results and performance. I've done the same for vehicle maintenance, modification and repair since the early nineties. When selling, "The book of the truck" (or airgun, or motorcycle) enhances the value.

Yeah, like I said, I have the photos, I guess I just need to get to work and write up some info on the 3x5 note cards like I did with my Firearms years ago !

I didn't even think about the airguns and the insurance end of things, until I watched the TV show the other day.
Time to get to work.

And yeah, as Slap - mentions I (again) used to...keep very good records of the things about my cars and bikes. Modifications, oil changes, any part change or replacement.
When my bikes started being fuel injected, I had to learn how to remap the fuel and timing maps. I kept a lot of records on those changes. The old map, alsong with the new map installed. How the engine ran (or didn't !).
Then...with my last new bike...I thought...I've NEVER...needed to go back to check on history records on any of my vehicles. No record keeping on this bike !

Mike.
