knock off yong heng ?

I was looking for a deal on a yong heng compressor on ebay, and stumbled onto what looks like an identical compressor minus the "yong heng" writing on the side. Does anyone have any info on these. Here is a link to the compressor in question, and its priced at 282$ so its about 50$ cheaper than any of the compressors with the Yong Heng writing on the side.

Ordered from the seller listed above and the compressor i received is a bit different . The hard line configuration and head are different , push type waterline conections , and the low and high pressure blocks are not beveled and have a different finish . Any thoughts on this head configuration ?

Looks good to me, that's the version that you want with the cyclone separator between the first and second stages... This looks like a good one since it ships from CA and not China or Hong Kong.

Most of the inexpensive items we buy from China are made by a manufacturer that will put any lable the customer wants. There can be slight differences in them based on what the buyer contract for in their order. hopefully you find a seller that is looking to sell a good product and now one looking to maximize their profit. Personally i would only buy from a seller with at least a 2 year history of satisfaction with their customers. If you are unable to do the future required maintenance and rebuilding these compressors require get something else and if you cant stick with springers.

I purchased one just like the link you posted for the same price and it also shipped from CA, but from a different ebay seller. The listing did not show the a name on it but the unit does have yong heng written on it. I've had it for a couple of months now and am beyond pleased with it. Not a single issue so far and I am amazed how fast it is for its size. The only mod I did was add in a radiator with a cooling fan between the compressor and the coolant tank reservoir.

I ordered what I thought was a YH from California on ebay but turned out to be a knockoff. I was concerned at first but the thing seemed solid so I hooked it up. First time I turned it on it sputtered and groaned and I thought I was screwed but it turned out that I had it plugged into a circuit that had my window A/C running on it too. When I plugged it into another circuit, it ran like a champ. The thing does pull 20 amp (110v) so make sure your circuit can handle it. I thought I read in one of the threads that the YH pulled less than 10 amps but I could be mistaken. I have it in my small back yard wood working shop and I just finished my set up today. Here is what I came up with.

Right now I am directly filling my Mrod and since I am mostly target shooting in the back yard, it isn't too inconvenient. However, I just received a used SCBA bottle that's in very good shape but expired this month, which I don't care about, because I can fill it myself and I am convinced those things will last forever despite the arbitrary "lifetime" they put on them. Now just waiting on the fill probe to come from China.
I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the great information on these compressors and filters, etc.! Sure beats the heck out of getting a few fills off the top of my SCUBA tanks!

I guess I didn't explain it clearly. I was using 3000psi SCUBA tanks (steel diving tanks) but I am switching to a 4500 PSI carbon fiber SCBA tank that I will fill with my YH. I can get a few fills off the top of my 3000 psi tanks but not that many before I have to lug them into the dive shop. They always seem to need a VIP, can't get the fill on the same day, etc., thus the YH compressor. These things have really changed the PCP game. The name brand compressors are just too much $$.

I too recently ordered no brand compressor from ebay. After best offer price was accepted ($250) and discount coupon applied I ended up paying $212 shipped.

It arrived delivered by FedEx 3 days after the purchase from warehouse in NJ.

After trip to Pep Boys to get #46 hydrolic oil ($14 for a gallon) I was in business.
So far I fill rifle directly, it takes only few seconds of running it to do it.
I've ordered SCBA tank from ebay that just expired but has recent hydro and SCBA fill whip. Plan to fill the tank myself.
