KnockOut MK3 from JSB — Any photos, any details?

ᗝ May I see a comparison photo between the MK 1, 2, and 3?
I'm especially interested in the hollow point shape and dimensions.


ᗝ I would love a hollow point expansion comparison — in realistic ballistic material (flesh, or 10% ballistic gel) — and at realistic velocities.


ᗝ I don't even own a .177cal. When will we get an MK3 in other calibers?

I'm looking to try these mk3 slugs. Everyday I peruse the EU stores, looking for stock.
The original .177 knockout are still my garden/barn favourite, the mk2 didn't work out for me, probably power related so I didn't test so much.
The mk3 despite it's lower BC looks interesting. Definitely worth exploring.
Skirt or not .
The latest JSB pellets I've tested, especially the MRD deep have been excellent, not good, excellent. Long may it continue.

A while ago I ordered one tin of those MK3 KO slugs to try out in my Vulcan 3. They seem to work good.

Comparison with MK1 - left MK1, right MK3.

And now they (JSB) have released MK II New Shape 10.03gr KO slugs.
Have not seen these in store in EU.

From Vulcan 3 @958fps, house sparrow explodes at 30yards with MK3-s. MK3-s hollow point opening works great!

CA Ground squirrels from 5 to 31 yards. At 5 yards the noise of a solid hit is startling loud. The hollow point opening is a 100% energy dump magnified by the target closeness. There seems to be a much more effective energy transfer as opposed to the same hit with a larger caliber that expends energy in the dirt after a pass thru.

I use them right at 900fps. Expansion heavily relies on how you hit something. But they still work fine. I’ve recovered enough of them from animals to know there is always some degree of expansion. Some extreme, some just a little more than the slugs diameter. I settled on 900fps for my best balance of accuracy, penetration and expansion.

I call them donut slugs. I switched to using them in the Leshiy classic and they are a tad more accurate than the Zans. Shooting them into duct seal at 920fps, they make perfect little earrings. Perhaps I can sell them on Etsy.

It's like Star Wars saga - numbers don't go from 1st to last. MK3 slugs came before MKII as I understand, so MKII are with skirts and latest edition of 10.03gr KO slugs.

Has anyone tried the JSB MK3 in a .177 break barrel ?

I tried the 10.03gr mk3s in my Taipan and now it's my main pesting ammo in .177 . Accuracy is as good or better than pellets and they hit hard . I've only tried them on mice so far but it tears then in half at 30-35 yards . Next up is a squirrel that's getting comfortable in a firewood pile .

Good question i wonder why too. I use the MK11 Knockouts in 22 and they have the skirt and they are better then the original ones without it.

I shoot the ZAN 10g slugs out of a Daystate Huntsman Classic in .177. Tried the NSA 12.5 and JSB 10gr. MK2's, but the ZANs grouped the best in the 750fps range.
