AirMaks Arms Krait X .22 Air consumption

Hello. Does your gun use a lot of air? I have a 700cc bottle and one shot is about 2bar. After leaving the projectile, you can still hear a loud air ejection. There is too much of it there, but loosening the hammer spring will cause unstable arrows and large fluctuations of the V0. Have you adjusted the valve spring tension in your Krait? I need guidance and I will be grateful for your help. Greetings to each of you

Try lowering the reg pressure. The hammer springs on these is VERY sensitive to minor adjustment. That's the only complaint I have on these guns.

I wrote an email to my seller in the Czech Republic ( Balistas ). I think they will want to help so I will try to give them my gun to check it. It's practically new because it's 2-3 months old, so I prefer not to start it myself. I will ask to show the problem and I will give you an answer what could be the reason for everyone to know for the future.

My Caiman is not bad on air usage but it was kind of loud with the tune it came with. 100 bar regulator and I adjusted the hammer to get it a little under peak velocity. Still was 900 fps on the 18 grain it likes. But I tried slugs and it likes H&Ns. Accuracy may be as good as pellets. I raised the regulator to 120 bar to push 21 grain about 900 fps. It is quieter now. I think the higher reg pressure is closing the valve sooner to it is closed when the slug exits. I might also try a heavier valve spring.

As @dens228 said, they are very sensative to the reg pressure and the hammer spring tension. I have a standard in 177 and a long in 25 and both consumed more air per shot until I figured out how to tune them correctly. If you wind the spring down too much, they will belch out extra air and your shot count goes down. I found that you make very small regulator adjustments then fine tune the hammer spring until you get the sweet spot. If you want to decrease the pressure, ALWAYS DUMP ALL THE AIR OUT FIRST! I did accidently turn the reg the wrong way - once - and it cost me a new regulator!

Yes, I know how to work with a regulator. The hammer spring in my case when it is tuned and the shot is quiet, every few bullets I have a much slower shot. It is not stable and when I set it a little harder it throws out too much air. I no longer have the patience for this and I have a few other pistols that I have set perfectly.

You should not hear any air after the shot. Bad oring or seal somewhere. My krait x with 700cc bottle will get 5 magazines of .23 grain slugs at 915 fps on just 50bar of air
Seems like yours is wasting a lot of air, I would think you'd get more shots than that with the 700cc bottle and 300b fill. I used to get 3 mags from my katran lb .22 shooting 25.39gr at 900fps and a 480cc bottle only filling to 250b instead of 300b

Hello. I'm coming back to finish this topic.
The gun returned after a visit to the manufacturer. It took a long time, but I can say that now it is good. They did not find any faults and said that everything is 100% functional, but I carefully examined and photographed the equipment before shipping. They certainly reviewed every element, made lubrication and configuration. Unfortunately, they ordered payment for it, but my seller in the Czech Republic did not charge me with it and sent it at no additional cost. Now it shoots steadily and economically enough so I'm starting to really enjoy it and I think I'll like it;)
At the moment I set the regulator low, only 90bar and it is stable, economical and still I have over 45fpe and about 200 good shots.
I'm testing Jsb monster light 20.83gr now and it looks like it's a great pellet
Thank you for your interest and forgive me for talking.😅

Please show your results with the JSB monster lights! The Krait L in the wood stock is on my short list.
