Kral Information Thread. “Contribute what you know “

I ported my tp/airways on my .25 Benjamin Kratos to just under .20 and polished the airways to .20, it was straight forward after degassing and tear down of barrels bottle and valve assembly until you remove that adjustable top hat.

The valve is stripped down and outlet needs to be drilled/ported, the barrel tp needs drilling/ported and then you will need to drill down through rear barrel retaining- screw after removing the barrel, When you drill through the rear barrel retaining hole you will wipe out the threads. I redrilled that hole to 1/4-20 and use a replacement 1/4-20 set screw now.

The adjustable tp assembly mentioned above was where it got tricky, if you try and drill it to .20, it will probably break, I ordered a spare before I started and broke the original by drilling in steps, with smaller bits, it broke before I got close to .20. So I took my time and used a small round Swiss file. It works, but I don’t use that power adjuster and gave it locked in place at full throttle.

With the porting and the 3625 PSI bottle, I reached 1025-1050 fps with Kings, then I turned it down to 975 fps with fill pressure.

I have not addressed the hammer and spring on the Kratos yet as described by Troy Hammer, he shortens the hammer, drills the spring hammer orifice to accept a Benjamin Bulldog spring.

On my 25 Bighorn, I sent Troy some of my MPMolds .252 hp 44 grain bullets to tune it, Troy tuned it to 82FPE for 20 shots. The Bighorn does not have the adjustable power assembly.

I've started doing some testing of my Bighorn .25. First up was to see what effect with and without the shroud and suppressor had on accuracy. The most accurate configuration was no suppressor and with the shroud on. Here's my best 5 round group at 50 yds with King Heavies Mk 1, no wind from a bench. Maybe you can tell where all 5 shots went, I can't. ;)

I have no problem with my Empire XS. For an inexpensive gun, I'm very happy with it. I put a few magazines through it yesterday.

Yes, it is a little mechanically noisy, so are most bullpups. Your ear is within an 1" or so of the receiver (where all metal to metal pounding action takes place).
So what ?

Mike
I miss it so. Lol, easiest to handle, excellent trigger and slings crossmans like lazers.

82+ fpe. It’s tempting.! 👿 Especially with less than .4 inch at 50y groups

What’s total in cost to get there ?

Surely there must be critters on the Island that require 82fpe to be dispatched … humanely. ( Kuroshio)

$599 shipped from Troy: https://www.thebestairgun.com/shop/p/bighorn

I'm strictly a target shooter. No hunting. I working with Troy to see if we can optimize this rifle's slug accuracy for longer ranges (100+ yds).

i understood that. So you got Troys “ tune “ for the gun

I’ve never heard of Kuzey … looks like Turkey is making a full court press …. Good for us

"Kuzey" is yet another brand name under the Reximex banner. Same company different brand name. Troy Hammer is the guru when it comes to those rifles, nobody knows more than he and he likes to tinker so has come up with an endless assortment of modifications for those rifles. That's one of the big benefits to buying from Troy. He not only tests every rifle before sending it out, he can take it to any level of tune that you want. He gave my Bighorn a "mini" tune, and what a difference it is to get a new rifle that does exactly what you want it to do right out of the box.

Hell yes. That’s what we all want.!

I’m in a quandary as I like my rifles but want one graced by Troy

I know he’s the real deal …. I’ll have to sell some stuff to get it though

Decisions…

I want to replace the aluminum bottle on my Bighorn with a carbon fiber one. But I'm having a devil of a time getting the old bottle off. I'm pretty sure the bottle ends where I'm pointing in the photo and that part to the right should twist off, correct? The bottle is depressurized and I tried holding the part to the left with an adjustable wrench. It's not budging. Advice?

I don't know if this is true for the other Kral's, but I needed a bigger caliber moderator than I do with other rifles. I tested with no moderator, a .22/.25 Sumo and a .25/.30 Ronin. With no moderator I will get sub MOA at 50 yds. With the smaller caliber Sumo it becomes a scatter gun. But with the .25/.30 Ronin, it's back to sub MOA but with a POI that is 4-5" lower.
