Kral NP-03 vs Kral Puncher Breaker Silent

Hello,

Does anyone have both Kral NP03 and Puncher Breaker Silent?

I was going to get the NP03, but I see that Puncher Breaker Silent is on sale in Pyramyd Air, only $30 more. Is the $30+ worth getting the Puncher Breaker? What are some differences? It looks like the Puncher Breaker is actually a bit shorter in length.

Does this larger Puncher Breaker fit into a backpack because it is shorter?

Thanks.

NP-03 has an aluminum 180cc airtube and a barrel just under 16" the Puncher Breaker is 280cc but steel with a barrel around 21" way more shots and more power with the longer barrel but the Breaker is about 2lb heavier. The NP-03 has a single screw to remove the rear stock so it can be put in a backpack in under 60 seconds. Less than 24" with the stock removed. Breaker might fit if you zip from both sides but the barrel and tube will stick out the top.

Thank you thammer!

Is there any benefit to having the NP03, excluding being 2 lbs lighter and rear stock being removable? Also would you know what FPS I would get on Puncher Breaker if I turn down the power to lowest setting (using 7.4gr .177 pellets).. I'm trying to shoot it around 500fps at backyard

I’ve got both and the breaker is a boat anchor that really only gets used on the bench. My NP03 weighs 8.5#s the way it’s configured and the breaker weighs 13. The 03 beats it in every way except the breaker has the potential for a little more power due to the longer barrel. They’re both equally accurate.

My guns are ported and hopped up but I just checked the breaker for you. 10.5gr crosman premier domed ultra magnums are doing 950fps with the transfer port open and 580fps with it turned down. That’s just a matter of backing off the hammer spring a touch and doing 880/500.

thank you so much Moodyblues. Out of curiosity, how come your Kral Np03 looks different? The cocking level and the metallic part under the scope looks different than what is being sold. Is that an upgrade you've made?

One thing to notice is the cocking lever is on the right side of the PB and the left side of the NP.
I shoot lefty and I really prefer the cocking handle on the right side.

The PB is just right for my farm/ranch work. It is heavy enough to be stable when shooting off hand. I have not tried the NP02/03 format. I do have a P-rod, and i feel it is too light to be steady unsupported.

The PB is too large to fit in a backpack. Whichever gun you go with you have a huge resource in AGN member THAMMER. He has taken the Kral line into new territory with tuning and modifications.

Hello, what is this type of bipod called? It is angled instead of just straight down, and it seems it makes sense for the short gun. If I just search, bipod, it seems most of them are just straight down. I've never used a bipod before, so this maybe a feature that all bipods have, haha.

To convert an NP03 to a bottle all you need is the dropblock, bottle and I went with a huma bottle reg so I could fill to a higher pressure. Then you have to either inlet your stock so there’s room for the dropblock or just cut the stock at the front end of the action as I did. That gun spins my 1.5” spinner 10/10 times at 100.

Hello moodyblues, thank you so much for this info. The Kral NP03 is coming tomorrow!!!

Trying to understand what this means to lower the power. When you say "transfer port" is turned down, do you mean the "power adjuster knob on the side" is at the lowest setting? And when you say "backing off the hammer spring" i assume that is remove the plastic grip area & turning the screw at the back of the gun counter-clockwise. Is this correct?

I am so excited go get my first PCP.. I almost canceled three meetings and taking vacation day to play with it it tomorrow. But no, work is important.. i changed the meetings to virtual meetings, so I at least attend the meetings while I play with the Kral. Woooooooo!

Congratulations Pup welcome to the party. I’ve had to leave work a couple times to go home and play with something new, they’re very hard to resist!!!

Yes the power adjuster is just a restriction on the transfer port. All the way up is open TP down closes it. Yes on the hammer spring also. Take one bolt out of the bottom of the stock to remove it, there’s a big flatblade in the back of the action turn counterclockwise to lower power. What it’s doing is throwing the hammer into the valve stem which knocks the poppet open and let’s air through the valve. The pressure in the air tube slams the poppet back and seals the valve. The more spring tension you have the harder the hammer hits the valve opening it further/longer, to a point.

You really need a chronograph if you don’t have one. You can get one that works good enough on Amazon under $50.

Have fun with it man, try not to put off to many responsibilities!! The struggle is real!

most bi pods move forward and back or at least back so you can fold them against the gun when traveling
