Kratos and pictany rail dimensional issue?

Hi,

I have a Benjamin Kratos that is new.

The problem is the rings will easily slide over the rear rail section but not the front section of rail north of the magazine.

I've tried buris signature and weaver rings and one other brand.
The dimensions of the rail in front are .010" wider than the rear.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks.

thanks for insight to those.
The Kratos has a pictany rail per Kratos documentation.
"the Kratos air rifle comes with a side cocking lever, power adjuster knob, and Picatinny mounting rail for your accessories."

And either weaver rings or pictany style rings should for on the pictany.

"Picatinny accessories will not fit on a Weaver rail, but Weaver accessories will fit on a Picatinny rail.

So the Weaver and the Burris rings both should fit on the pictany.

ir appears the pictany rail is not machined to specifications, or they would fit the front part too.

This is really surprising........ unless I'm missing something?

you used the word "slide" to describe trying to fit the rings to the rail.
which says to me that maybe youre incorrectly trying to slide on picatinny rings like you would slide on a dovetail ring.

make sure you have the base screws loosened enough for the clamp to fit over the rail.

a picture would greatly help us diagnose the problem.

I have picatinny mounts on my Cayden, no issues at all.

The Akela and Cayden rails do not appear to meet Picatinny spec - at least mine didn’t when I measured them.

I tried three different UTG Pro one piece mounts on my Akela - none would fit - too tight. These mounts are precisely machined with squared off ”pegs” - not rounded - so there is no leeway - rail must be Picatinny.

The only one piece mount that would fit my Akela was the SWFA SS one piece mount.

Many two-piece mounts (rings) use the bolt from the clamp, which is rounded obviously, to fit it the rail slots. This would seem to provide more latitude if the rail does not meet Picatinny spec.

Ok here you can see the ring installed on the rail by removing the screw and sliding it on the dovetail. The front is a no go because of dimensional differences. You can see the geometry of the rings. Super high quality - used on long range precision rifles commonly.

I didn't put the screw back in - but it fits fine and does not interfere with the rail slots.

Thx for looking!

I have the rounded pegs on the utg rings sorry, these seem to be weaver/picatinny.
