Tuning L2 Conversion Therapy- Bigbore No more! ((.177) tune repository

Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a great start to the year :)
My current L2 is stock 250mm AP .30 with REPR reg.

I want to convert it to a .177 paper puncher and maximize shot count for distances 25yrds and under. Preferred ammo would be jsb wadcutters but would love to know peoples’ tunes for other ammo as well. My gf got me a pack of greens (7.33gr) for Christmas so that’s on deck.

I bought the following:
  • 470cc airtank
  • 250mm .177 barrel (Alfa Precision)
  • .177 pellet mag
  • 0.2mm-1.3mm power jet kit
  • 2x 2.0mm jets
  • Raptor reg
  • Dog collar (New Forward Plug LSA242200 #32)
  • Dog bone (New Forward Plug LSA242200 #33)
  • Assortment of different size transfer port pucks, 1mm, 2mm, 3mm

Unfortunately the Wika gauge arrived all scratched up so I had to send it back and am waiting for a replacement so I don’t currently have a way to measure plenum pressure 😞

Anything submitted here will (eventually) be used as the starter data for a central repository of L2 tunes (all calibers). Not 100% sure how I want to do it yet, just maintain a hosted spreadsheet or actually make a site with selectable options that allows user submissions and possibly a rating system. Honestly it will mostly be a factor of time.

That being said, my questions to all you L2 experts out there are-
  • What are your favorite .177 tunes?
  • Please include as many of the following data points as possible
    • Ammo used (I know this is obvious)
    • Plenum pressure
    • Jet selections
    • Transfer port pick size
    • Barrel length
    • Velocity
    • Shot count & airtank or shots per x cc
    • Were there any notes/comments/issues with this tune?
Additional data points
  • Barrel type
  • REPR/Raptor/Old school
  • [anything else I’m missing]?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and share your wisdom. It’s rare I actually get to shoot at this point which is why I’m requesting this info instead of just doing the leg work myself.
Have a fantastic evening!

I'm no expert, but I can give you some beginner pointers to help you get started.
At 25 yards, I would recommend diabolos, not wadcutters.
Start with (2x) .9mm jets, or no greater (less? ) than the equivalent of a minimum (max? ) of 1.8mm. So if you have a .9mm and a 1mm, I would use those. Do not go less (1.7) than 1.8 or you'll just be wasting air.
Full open puck.
100-120 bar reg.
Get a few different weights of pellets to see what works best, but ime, the heavier the better with this gun.
If you're going to be shooting pellets, only, then get the LW barrel. It's choked and meant for pellets. Only get the AP if you want to shoot slugs and pellets.
I have the raptor reg. Supposedly, no reg creep, but I have no experience with the REPR to know if there's a difference.
I'm still a noob, myself, but I hope that should help a bit. ✌️😊
