This is what a well built unit looks like ...not made in China

Looks good...now it has to stand the test of time... who has one? Who will buy first and post up? The form factor is appealing, but will it last? I’m saving for an Alkin...

The Alkin W31 is worth saving your money for. This brand passed the test of time starting 30 years ago. I got my first pcp in 2002 after enjoying Beeman spring airguns for many years. Back then the most well known dealer selling compressors targeting pcp owners was Bruce Dodson in Dallas. He sold Alkin based compressors under his trade name, Airetex. Anyone who could afford a quality compressor bought either an Airetex or a much pricier Bauer. Several years ago Alkin and Airetex severed ties and Alkin opened it's U.S. headquarters in New Jersey. I've been on forums for 18 years and can't recall anyone who owned an Airetex complaining about it's quality or longevity. I couldn't justify an Airetex or Bauer back then but I own a W31 Alkin now. If you see an Alkin in person and watch it fill a tank once you will be sold. They are rock solid and can fill carbon fiber tanks without breaking a sweat. They are built for an 8 hour a day duty cycle and would be great in a small commercial operation filling a cascade system. No other compressor brand in it's price range offers as much compressor for the money. Alkin W31's only require a 230 plug of your choice to get started. No other dive compressor includes a stanless steel repackable filtration cartridge as standard equipment. No other dive compressor includes an hour meter as standard. The Alkin includes a PMV, can fill to 5000 psi with just a pop off valve calibration. It lopes along at 1050 rpms to produce a fill rate equivalent to a Coltri MCH-6 running at 2800 rpms.

Has Lexus passed the test of time? It began selling cars in the same year as Alkin compressors were first sold. There are forum members using Airtex's that are 20 years old and still running like new.
