Notos arriving later this week for pest control and wondering what’s the largest critter people have dropped with one, stocked or modified. Will be mostly after squirrels and rabbits though an occasional groundhog visits the garden and an opossum or raccoon investigates the chicken coop.

Stock Notos .22 using JSB 13.43 @783 fps / 18 ft lbs
I got a skunk with stock notos with vital shot, only 15 yards away though. He took about 2 steps and just stopped.
I did wind up turning up regulator later on....1/2 turn and slightly heavier hammer spring and wound up with the follow velocities / ft lb energy

your brave, id be totally scared to get that close to the skunk dead or alive.. because I'd worry that I'd somehow get sprayed

how do you shoot them right? we have skunks and they sometimes spray the dogs or the neighbors dogs.. so I'd likely use something powerful but where is the best place to hit them?

shoot them thru both lungs broadside and they wont spray, hit spine/brain or shoulder bone and they will spray every time.

Why shoot a possum though? They are pretty beneficial… don’t get me wrong, I hunt and if a pest comes across no hesitation to give it a case of very localized lead poisoning. But animals that are good for the system and don’t do any damage are welcome in my yard… Possum being high on the list of those.

my buddy’s notos, fully ported by me. he shot this lil hog right between the eyes at around 20-25 yards with 17.5 nsa sub 800fps
