Last night on my Rat Permission

Here is my video from last nights fun

I have shot the rats on this permission with 13.43 .177 making 27 fpe, 18.13 .22 making 24 fpe and now finally 15.89 hades .22 making 27 fpe...... any naysayers of hades, you won't convince me they don't work better, I have real life proof, there may be other variables but after using them Friday afternoon on the birds and last night on the rats that are rugged as hell, my ... real world application and data shows me they do absolutely work better. The minimal expansion is minimal to our eye but huge to the size of these animals , to them its like going from baseball size to soft ball size.

With that said, heres the video, had an absolute blast and the Taipan truly is my all time favorite platform, I know I sound like a broken record but IDC haha.. tuned to shoot 15.89 hades for 27 FPE.

If you guys could like and subscribe that would be awesome, share with friends, check out my IG I really do love everything about airguns and the airgun community even if we don't always agree with eachother .... making these videos is fun and there will be more now that my setups are getting better tuned and set for the right jobs. I will be making my rounds to the 30-35 farms in the area (closest to me) here in CT!

Nice vid! That vet really is a tac driver. I also believe the hades are superior. I’ve shot a bunch of different stuff pesting, and the hades just anchor almost every time.
It really is, the vid does the rifle no justice most of these shots were between 35-50 yards, doming rats at 100 feet , the taipan makes it look easy.

Great video, I'm going to have to start asking about rats, no one around here ever complains about them so I assume they aren't much of a problem.

A couple farms I went to had lots of cats, rats weren't an issue, the few that had no cats, they had rats.

Sweet video.
Looks like you guys are dialed in and having fun while doing some good for the local farms, win win.

Not to throw a wrench into your setup buuuuttttt I’m trying something out. I might be switching over to lead free for rats. I don’t always recover them and need to respect all the other predators that could be feasting on them. Not to say I dont get pass throughs but to be 100% sure no lead is in the rat I have to shoot lead free.
Way pricier but will be worth it as long as the accuracy holds.
You might want to try them out you could be a lead free ambassador for rats at 50 and under.
Predator GTO’s soon to be JSB lead free domes at 11.75gr. for .22.
With my Taipan shorty (reg ~135Bar, peek tip on hammer with nylon(plastic)washers on either side of stock hammer spring)
Switching to lead free I dial HS down 3/4 turn gives me 853 fps for 19ft.lbs. and 1/2 mil high at my 36 yard zero with my jsb 16’s/hades going, I believe, 860fps at the not turned down Hammer Spring setting or 3/4 up or CW from the lead free setting.
My optika6 was zero stopped an extra + .5mils high before my real zero so this worked out quite nice when first testing.

No group test yet but have read good reports of these gto LF pellets being accurate at or up to about 50 yards.

Not saying you need or should be doing this but maybe your next pellet order add a tin of the GTO’s and give them a try.

Edit:
Update is accuracy is no good with the gto’s for my setup. Harder loading and seems like they are spiraling and not grouping well. With lower and higher fps adjustment hitting new areas on target diagonally from original group.
I’m sure its achievable to get this shorty shooting these gto’s good but thinking the chamber might need to be polished/relieved some and it is great with lead so not willing to do that and mess with a accurate barrel.
If I go lead free maybe source another barrel I can mess/play with to try and make it work great.

Edit new barrel installed and gto’s now accurate.
Figured it was the to tuff loading but did not want to mess with shooting lead accurate original barrel. Opened throat up and gtos load much more like butter like the lead jsb’s do in original barrel. After a new crown (deep gash) and cleaning the dust out from the inside like it was in a museum, happy thought. It hits first shot and every time like it should. No corkscrewing through fps change so good to go now

Nice video! That looks like a lot of fun. I have the Wraith 4K Mini mounted on my P-rod. I’ve recorded a dozen rat kills but for some reason the SD card app won’t let me share the files. What app are you using? Thanks
I'm just plugging the SD card right into a desk top , I didn't even know there was an app lol

Those pellets are definitely passing through those rats… unless shooting lengthwise, and even then you get pass through. There’s not much mass to rats to stop said pellets. In the distance past my buddies and I shot rats with a Tempest air pistol shooting .22 wadcutters we did not get pass throughs.

I was getting pass through with these hades and these shots are at a considerable distance I would say the average shot in this video is 42ish yards.

We did shoot one big guy it hit him in the chest and passed right out his rear , took the intestines right out with it.

He was the longest shot of the night closer to 48/49 yards
