Law of diminishing returns

My experience shooting offhand with scopes=being of senior age,The quicker I can get the right sight-picture dead on bullseye the better.
The lower power helps because as said, your shaking is not magnified as much, thus bullseye sight picture Seems easier to hold. All this reminds how good peep sights are.

They helped make my Marauder a very handy field gun. No clumsy scope or the extra weight and quick on target. I'll admit that I am chasing the last of my once perfect eyesight, but I am of the opinion that shooting open or aperture sights is good exercise for eyeballs. That said, 35 yards is about as far as I can reliably hit a squirrel-head sized target. Beyond that, I pretty much need a scope.
