Lead Free Pellet advise - R9/HW95

I recently got an annual membership for the indoor range at New England Airguns. My local gun club won't allow airguns on the indoor pistol range since they say airguns are not powerful enough to penetrate the heavy rubber anti-spalling drapes in front of the deflector plating.

NE Airguns has a lead free rule but they also have a wide selection of lead free pellets in stock.

Curious about your experiences and recommendations with lead free pellets in the R9 (or HW 95) in .177 cal. I have tried the H&N FTT greens (5.71 gr) - No good, supersonic just under 1,200fps, terrible accuracy and too loud indoors. Also tried Predator GTO 6.79 gr and H&N Baracuda Green 6.64 gr. Both of those are decently accurate IMO at just barely sub-sonic 1,100 fps. Curious if there may be others that will work well. Regards, Badger

Maybe put a 12 fpe spring kit in your gun to slow it down a touch. I’m not aware of any other quality lead free pellets in .177.
Thanks but I'm reluctant to tune it down. Really feels like it's breaking in well now. The (marginally) sub-sonic LF pellets are acceptably accurate (at least to my standards). I'm planning on an R7 or HW50. in any case in a few months for a sub-12fpe gun.

I’ve tried both the GTOs and H&N in .22 and they do very well in the HW95. That said, in .177 they are just too light for distances beyond 10-15 yards. Using a less powerful rifle like an HW30 or HW50 is probably best, or detuning to 12 FPE if you really want to use these pellets in .177.

Thanks, I'm planning on a sub-12fpe .177 rifle in the near future. I shoot the .22 Baracuda Greens (12.96gr) in my Benji Trail NP2 and M-rod and those shoot pretty well at about 900 fps.
