What would be cool is if someone(heck, maybe me, lol!) came up with a small cylinder, that can be inserted into the pressure pipe after the guns air has been drained, then the cylinder punctured, cap the gun back to get her and pressurize with air. The cylinder we drop in releases smoke, and that smoke will find its way out on any leak area, no matter how small.
How I came up with this is in commercial HVAC duct systems sometimes we are called upon to pressure test our duct, with no more that a 5% leak rate in the duct systems entire capacity of total CFM. We have to insert smoke “candles”(we are not allowed to call them smoke bombs, for the main concern of scaring the unknowing that could be lingering around) inside the duct and pressurize the duct runs. The smoke can be easily seen, and we would go around with a fat sharpie taped onto a length of electrical conduit and mark the spots of leakage. After the pressure test we now go around and apply duct sealer to all the marked up spots.
These candles work the same way as the insecticide bombs we throw up in our attics to kill all the bugs in a house. Depress a tab and off she goes.
