So I've had these two guns for a couple years now and have had nothing but trouble getting them to seal. I have leak detector and know about the dip method. I have a third one that has held air just fine. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with these two short tubes. I believe I ran a hone in them but nothing excessive. That would be the only thing I can think of that would have messed them up. If anyone has had issues like this please share. Thank in advance.

No M-rods are not typically leakers ... Tho OLDER PCP's in need of fresh o-rings indeed are !!!

M-rods with stock valves are indeed Poppet head killers, that if failed or about too .. do leak

As far as the tube goes, check for feathering on the DB o-ring. That’s a clear indicator of too much clearance. Either being the tube too large or the drop block too small. Machining of the tube should also be looked at. The threads are .015 larger in diameter then the tube so a nice transition is required not to cut ring and that .015 should not extend into ring area. Also check depth of threads in tube.
Fyi , if this was a purchased tube and not one cut from factory chances of the ID not being to spec are higher.

OEM spec on Steel M-rod tubes is @ 1.058"
The JSAR Aluminum tubes were oversize a bit and prone to o-ring extrusion on all the main tube SAE 118 o-rings
