Stoeger Leaning to the XM1 Scout

Food for thought. Ever wonder why barrels look like they are bent down? For some reason most all times it’s bent down right? People obviously don’t like it visually yet accuracy is unfazed. In all the services I’ve done with all airguns that have this issue is because the main tube is angled slightly north due to the connection to the body of the airgun. Turkish guns are notorious for this.
When you install a band that’s mounted to the tube on a barrel that’s actually straight it will angle the barrel upwards and off the plain of the scope rail. With that being said yes there are bent barrels from time to time from manufacturers but most misalignment’s are actually due to the tube itself.
Not a complaint but nobody ever thinks of that scenario either. It’s just quick to say the barrel is bent due to the illusion.
Interesting, when mounting my optic, the rail and barrel appeared parallel and level to each other. At least according to my rough measurements.

Thank you for your generous offer Evolve 3D! I may take you up on it if needed. However right now accuracy and consistency are meeting my needs. If things change, I'll definitely keep it in mind. Thanks again!
Sure thing! Happy to help if needed. Glad you have it dialed in! I love these rifles!

Has anyone done much with .22 slugs with a scout? What are your experiences with these barrels, do they prefer .217" or .218"? I see some sample packs out there with regard to weight but I'm surprised that they don't include both diam in the trial pack.

Mine and many other SPA rifles seem to do real well with H&N 21 grain slugs in the .217 flavor.. 23 grains also worked ok however not as good in my rifle as the fore mentioned..
