Learning curve BAR/PSI

Changed to a new digital gauge on my rifle today. I am so use to reading in PSI. Now I am training myself on converting to BAR. Doing pretty good so far. I have the wife showing me flash cards! Ha Ha. Have to admit, sure is easier reading lit digits then trying to decifer between tiny PSI lines.

Just remember 1 bar = 14.5 psi and you will be ok.

Ya. It’s the 179 X 14.5 that’s the problem!

I just remember the four make that five points that are important to me.

100Bar is near 1500psi actual 1450 I fill my bulk Co2 guns to less than 1500psi

150bar is near 2000psi actual 2175 I have guns that fill to 2000psi

200Bar is near 3000psi actual 2900 I have guns that fill to 3000psi

250Bar is near 3600psi actual 3625 I have guns that fill to 3600psi

300 bar is at 4350psi This is as far as I fill my 4500psi tanks with my compressor.

BAR isn't hard. Typically, you won't be trying to extrapolate a pressure somewhere in the tank pressure to BAR/PSI because it really won't matter. It's only important at your two most important data points; Max fill pressure and refill pressure.

I have it mounted on my .45 big bore. So I am more concerned about only a few hundred psi from 3400 down to about 2800. So if I am within that range I get the shots I am after. I have a cheat sheet taped on the rifle. Did a little shooting today so I have the numbers I need. But I am thinking of adding them to a couple other rifles I own.

After starting out with BAR, I switched to PSI gauges. I didn't like having to do conversion math and I also feel like PSI is more fine tuned , especially when setting a regulator. Now my Armada has fill and reg pressures in easy PSI. I suppose since it seems most products are made in Europe, we just accepted their BAR system.
