Shot the .177 Air Arms Ultimate Sporter this afternoon. This is unregulated shot with a bipod.

Started with 10.34 JSB Exact Heavy at 180 Bar. Average speed was 989.6 SD 8.3 and the first 5 spread way out and the other 5 did a little better.

2nd bunch was 9.57 H&N Hunter Extreme at 160 Bar. Average speed 978.5 SD 8.4 and spread out a bunch

Did a 10 shot group with the 10.34 JSB and things did better with a couple of fliers but that could be on the shooter. Average speed was 925.2 with SD 13.0.

I bet if you back the power down to between 850fps and 888fps the groups will shrink.

Probably half power to just above half.

Velocity isn't always your friend. Enough is needed, but after that the benefits get very thin.
