N/A Least problematic air rifle brand for newbies

I was thinking this would be a good thread for newbies who want to jump into the world of PCP rifles. Recommendations should be from personal experience and divided into 3 categories. Low power/plinkers/hunters/target, Medium power/hunters/target and High power/hunters/target/competition. Some rifles may occupy more than one category.

Low Power:
Air Arms S510 .22cal
Weihrauch HW 110 .177cal
Daystate Red Wolf .177

Medium Power:
Air Arms S510 .22cal + .25cal
Daystate Red Wolf .177
Daystate Red Wolf HP .22cal
Airforce Condor .22cal
FX Crown MK2 .25cal

High Power:
Daystate Red Wolf HP .22cal
FX Crown MK2 .25cal
FX Impact MK2 .25cal
BRK Ghost .25cal

Although the Impact can be considered problematic by some, I kept my reg pressure down to 110 bar and never experienced any leaks or issues. The Ghost is a recent acquisition, but I don't anticipate any problems based on others experience. For my use, the only rifle I would not buy again from the above list is the Impact.

99% of Newbies aren’t going to spend $2000+ on an airgun. They’re still new and don’t know what they want and what to expect from the dark side. All they see are YouTube and read on forums but personal experience will dictate what gun they get. When I was new I wouldn’t get any of these. The list should be things like the Notos, Gamo Urban, Gauntlet….i thought I wanted an Impact from watching YouTube in the beginning but personal experience dictated I use a Leishy.

See? You shot some pcps and know what direction you want to go. Nobody starts with a Brocock

Can't the .177 daystate red wolf produce 40fpe? That's pretty far from low and medium power.

curious about your selections if as you say newbies ? very expensive guns for just getting their feet wet . Although resale might be better / easier as they are all popular guns .
when i take my air guns to the local range everyone loves them and the looks when they shoot , priceless . BUT then the cost Kills all hope of conversion .

The Airforce Condor was my first PCP approx 20 years ago. I still have it.

Gotcha, I forgat that it only made that power with the longer barrel, that's my bad.

I will add to your list by saying these guns would also make great first time guns to get even if second hand.

I would recommend a USED Brocock. In my opinion they are the best bargain out there for a new to PCPs shooter. Simple to operate, very accurate, easy to tube, very good quality, not really picky about ammo, extra aftermarket mags and accessaries readily available, and pride of ownership. If you spend about $700-$900 you will have an excellent quality gun that can give you many years of trouble free shooting. Most nubbies buy a less expensive gun and if they like shooting it they almost always upgrade to a better gun at least 2 or 3 times. Why not start with a higher grade gun which will give them a better experience to judge a PCP and then saving them from having to upgrade later? Or if they decide PCPs are not their cup of tea they can most likely get most if not all their money back if they sell it. It's a no lose situation. IMO

Wow! I'm in the 1% for the first time in my life. Lol
I just want a reliable multi purpose gun, I know now it's impossible, that I expect won't be cheap.
I've seen the reality now so I'm looking for two guns both reliable that fit my needs. -- hoping for cheap. :)

Nothing wrong with the 1% you’re saving $$ and headaches of the learning curve that cheap sucks lol
