Leishiy x2 or keep one and adjust one platform?

I bought a 2nd Leishiy thinking I would have 1 for the backyard pesting with the Huma 12 ft/lbs 350mm barrel plenum and another with a 250mm with the Huma regulator for small game hunting. Both .25 caliber.

My question, it looks quick to change out the valve. Springs, and regulator if I wanted to configure 1 single gun for either application and sell the 2nd one. I would keep the 350mm barrel. Does it make sense to keep both or simply configure the one gun with the valves, springs and regulators assuming I would tune one and adjust the hammer spring tension accordingly

Yes the addiction is growing Thanks for the input

It would be really cool if the Leshiy Classic could be retro-fitted to be like the Leshiy2..where the air tube and stock have a Quick Detach mechanism..that would make it really easy to have two air tubes and regulators setup and easily swap-able.

Until that happens..if it were me..I'd keep both. As easy as it is to change barrels and internals there is still a time sink of re-sighting in and re-adjusting each time you swap parts.

If you did this and made those changes several times a year I would at least try to stick with one hammer spring and see if you get the FPE range you like.

Before I moved to my new house I was experimenting with using a 177, 250 mm barrel for low powered pesting and plinking. With the Leshiy this requires higher reg pressures so when I swapped out to a 22, 350 mm barrel I got much higher FPE without making any other changes.

If it works for your needs I would at least consider something like this. At my old house the flatter trajectory and having the MPBR further out in 177 was an advantage as well.

I think CTShooter has some data on swapping between 177 and 25. I think he was getting impressive power deltas with just barrel swaps.

Ditto keep both - I got tired of changing regulator and regulator settings, scopes and springs (the full Huma 12 ft/lbs conversion include changing the hammer spring) so now I got two Leshiy, one in .177 cal for plinking and a .22 for hunting...and serious can kicking

If I could have only one I would choose the .22 cal and wouldn't bother messing with regulator setting, just adjust the hammer spring

With the Sub 12fpe kit you can actually achieve reasonable tunes across every caliber. You can run it pretty hot... which I think most people don’t realize. You’ll sacrifice a little on the efficiency, but you’re talking 5-10 shots here and there max.

With the sub 12 kit: 95 - 105 bar on the reg... you can swap .177 - .30 (I even did 9mm) with only having to change the HST. Simple external adjustments to dial in where you want to be... and that’s it. Your o-rings will last forever too, as you’re not constantly taking pressure on and off and damaging them taking the gun apart.

I have 2 Leshiy Classics as well... I keep one in .22 and the other I do the above to accommodate filming /content needs.

I would keep both, eliminating the hassle of re-zeroing every time you changed the configuration. I highly recommend getting a .22 barrel, perhaps for your shorter 250mm setup, and try the JSB 14.3 grainers in it. In my experience with the .25 barrel and slower velocities, the shot cycle (time between sear release and pellet exiting barrel) is relatively long and unless you're shooting from a rest with careful shoulder pressure and trigger technique, it's easy to pull shots off target.

I have the 350mm .22 barrel currently set up in my Leshiy, shooting the JSB 14.3's around 875ish FPS. The shot cycle is extremely quick, and for hunting, I find that a partial trigger pull (it's a single stage trigger for those not familiar) followed by a deft snap at the precise moment of sight/target alignment provides the best results.

The smaller the caliber, the higher the velocity you can achieve with less air (especially with the longer barrel, and the quieter it will be. .177 cal with 12 ft lb would be great short range pesting gun. I like to reach out to 50 yards, and find the .22/350mm barrel to be the best overall compromise.

Have fun with your setups, I think the Leshiy 1 will become a classic and you'll wish you kept both!

I had two Leshiy's at one point and eventually I decided to part with one as I didn't change the setups that often and a barrel swap is pretty quick. I've kept my reg at 125-130 so I have a little extra kick needed for .177 and plenty of air for .30.

In .25/250mm I can easily get the H&N FTT 20gr pellets up to 800+fps. I can also get .30 around 60 fpe and .177 down to under 10 fpe. This is all with hammer spring adjustments and no touching the reg ever.

is your 0.30 in 250mm?

No - the .30 barrel is 350mm. Don't think a 250mm was ever made, although I've been considering having it shortened to remove the choke and make it a 250.
