For all of you that were contemplating removing the dogbone and collar from your .22cal leshiy 2, I went ahead and did it this afternoon, and shooting hades, I gained 100fps without changing anything else. I went from 860fps with hades at 150b reg, to 960fps with hades at same reg pressure. That’s an astounding jump!
the only downfall is your spread will increase. Mine went from a standard deviation of 3.6 to 8.3. This seems like a lot, but for a hunting platform, its practically unmeasurable below 100yds. In fact, immediately after rezeroing, I took a tree rat at 73yds EXACTLY where I aimed. Only it hit MUCH harder due to the velocity increase.
this also lowered my shot count. I went from 5 full magazines to 3, but totally understandable again for the speed increase. I will now be testing slugs on this platform, because before, I dare go near them with how high a reg pressure I would have needed to get them going a decent speed. Now it should be easy!!
