Leshiy 2 build tips needed. (What NOT to do) Parts guide or guidance

Ive come to think that carrying it in yer pack, folded, is a very bad idea. the TP “gasket” o ring thingie can come out, and dirt/dust etc can get into the other openings

Serious???? That basically killed the appeal of the gun for me. Come to think of the mag is exposed and so is the TP. Maybe put it in a pouch? Or with the mag and TP pointed up? Got to be a way to address that.

Just carry it moderator down. It's not a big deal.

To be honest, I didn’t like that either. I actually never store mine folded. I leave it closed, usually with an empty mag in it when i am simply storing the gun.

My setup has the CP scope 350 barrel and has all the black bits works very well and looks good IMO, i would agree use a speed loader so no risk of damaging the mags, i have the sub 12 airgunners one, works a treat

jeffman, just wondering where you got that speed loader?

First thing I suggest you do is read the thread on here named, EdGun Leshiy 2. It is up to 138 pages . Lots of info on the rifle from the users and videos from Ed and Brian. As far as how to set it up, it’s a real rabbit hole so take your time , read the reviews and look at the pictures to decide how to accessorize you gun. I was one of the first 100 and ordered items ahead of getting my rifle . A lot of accessories were not even available yet and worse no reviews to guide me. I have swapped out all the original accessories with newer ones so I wasted a lot of money up front. In my opinion , or taste, I think the Leshiy 2 is best fitted with one of the Compact scopes . A 3 X 12 SF is all you need . The gun is meant to be compact and light for hunting. Full size scopes IMO don’t look right and defeat the rifles original purpose. The only benefit they bring is a little more light gathering which isn’t a game changer for me. I tried the US Optics compact 3 x 12 first. Great little scope but I had trouble seeing the recticle in the woods. Wish it were illuminated . But that is a problem with First Focal Plane scopes with me. So I switched to the new Optisan 3 x 12 SF compac which has low turrets and a slender profile. I like the recticle and it looks right on the Leshiy. Again I wish it were illuminated . I run a separate Holosun red dot on a 45 degree mount for anything within 20 yards AR style. Works great and quick in the woods and after dark with a mounted flash light. As you will read the Leshiy is not a quiet rifle. The stock Moderator works OK in .22 but the 30 needs more. I tried the ShoPot system first. Looked great and gives you a lot of options to mount stuff but the Moderator doesn’t do much to quiet down the gun. The consensus out there is the Huma moderators do the best. The size depends on which forearm guard you decide to use. Again look at the pictures and read the reviews. I finally ended up with the CF 15 “ forearm with the Huma MOD 30 moderator. I tuned my gun with a .2 jet and plugged the other hole. The reg I set at 165 bar. That only gave me 2 magazines of air so I got the 300 bottle which added another 1 1/2 mags which is good for a walk in the woods unless the chipmunks are out in numbers. I shoot the JSB 50 grain or the FX Hybrids in my .30 x 350 barrel. On the subject of slugs you will find that slugs will slide right through the magazine so you can’t load a spare mag and carry it . You have to load the mag in the chamber which is a good thing as the magazines are a pain in the ass to take in and out . I bought some 3D printed speed loaders that work better than swapping magazines and are cheaper. They are on eBay from a guy in England. If you get them get some thin rare earth magnet discs and epoxy them to the bottom of the speed loader. Use that to remove the magazine retainer plate. Quick and easy reloads. If you decide on the metal forearm , I have the 250 and 350 lengths with ShoPot moderators I’ll sell. I also sell the US Optics 3x12 scope.

Thank you for the information. Very helpful, and I love your setup. It looks like you've got the 450mm barrel. I'm debating on picking one up. Are you happy with it? You also mentioned the issue with slugs not fitting. As an FYI, I found some that fit perfect and don't slide out. They are the AVS Slugs - 3033.

Since we're still on the subject of build tips and "What not to do", I'm gonna have to mention about choosing the right scope mount for the L2. This might not apply to the OP if he has already chosen his scope mount and he did not run into any problems but it might help others making the journey. I know it's mentioned in the the long Leshiy 2 thread but I'll post it here again.

Depending on your scope mount and the position of your scope in the rings, the base of the scope mount might interfere with the folding release lever if you mount it within the last 2-3 picatinny slots shown in this pic.

Also, if you have a cantilever scope mount with QD levers on the left side, there's a possibility that the QD levers might interfere with the forward plug on the stock when in the folded position. I ran into that problem after purchasing all the accessories prior to receiving my L2. When I mounted the scope, the stock wouldn't fold all the way. If the rear QD lever is pass the last 3-4 picatinny slots, they will most likely interfere with the stock closing all the way. The arrow points to a spot on the forward plug where the QD lever made contact chipping the anodizing.

Here's a view from the top with the previous scope mount.

I ordered a new scope mount to resolve the issue and all is fine now. Yes, I could have moved the scope mount forward but then there's the issue of eye relief. Just something to be aware of.

"What not to do" looks like I missed some steps not reading the manual precisely...

Received the L2 late last afternoon, put it together with - a mag w magnetic plate in place, closed the stock/gun, and now I cannot open it or just don't know the trick for it.

The long lever on right side (even the Edgun "how-to" video is showing) doesn't move and I don't want to brake something.

What did I miss?

If you have a scope mounted, check the mount/rings as the poster said above.

If you don't like how the guage is oriented you can degas the gun and the guage will spin without too much effort in case anyone wanted to turn it. Pet peeve of mine is cockeyed guages heh.

Grab it with your fingers on the face of it and the back side where the round metal thing is and it'll spin/twist.

I totally agree! On other guns, I sometimes under or over tighten the gauge to line up because my OCD kicks in lol. I'll sometimes put a thin o-ring to time it and as long as it holds air, I'm good. Being able to orientate the pressure gauge is one of the features EDgun thought about with the L2.

So why not do it at the factory? Lol, not a big deal. Was able to sleep last night after orienting the guage haha.

On a side note I really had fun shooting this yesterday and found that a fast trigger pull is the ticket for accuracy. Still a learning curve on the trigger but I like it.

Once I get a jet set I can get this in a happy place for power vs noise. No one's fault on that but our stupid moderator rules as this gun was designed using a mod. Love this thing for sure.
