EDgun Leshiy 2 double cycling

Just got a like new L2 .30 from the classifieds here. I think it is a 2024 build. Today I was shooting the JSB Match Diabolo Hades. 30 Cal, 44.75gr, Hollowpoint pellets. I have noticed they fit really tight. You kind of have to press them in a little.

I have this issue where after a shot the magazine skips a pellet. In other words, it steps 2x. Sometimes it steps 1.5 times and the magazine needs to be adjusted. So out of the 8 shot every other shot is fired. Also, my pellet speeds are inconsistent from 850 slowly going down to 650 after like 10 shots with the regulator still reading 240 bars.

Any ideas?

Watch the edgun west YouTube movie on index problems. You likely need to tighten the grub screw just above the barrel. It’s explained on YouTube How to do it.
If that is the tension on the mag spindle, be careful. There are two grub screws ... one keeps the other from moving. Just make sure to loosen one before the other. Do them in the wrong order, you'll start messing up the grub screws with unnecessary wear from fighting each other.

Easy thing to check is make sure the barrel doesn’t set even slightly proud where the magazine rotates. Use a credit card across the base of the barrel and make sure it doesn’t protrude even slightly.
I did check this. Thanks! It is flush.

These pellets are really tight in the mag. I think this is the cause. Some are just slightly tighter than others. This would explain (I think.. without really understanding the mechanics involved) too much back pressure building up and causing more rotation and also why the pellet speed is inconsistent.

I suspect there's more to it than that but I hope that's it

I only shoot .177, and can only speak personal experience on that caliber.
I've tried several brands of pellets, and they all fit in the standard Pellet magazine just fine.
JSB KnockOut Slugs fit, and work best for .177 slug magazines!

You need to be using standard Pellet magazines for JSB Hades or any other Pellet!
Slug magazines are a smaller diameter than the standard Pellet magazine!
Note, in the photo below, how the smaller diameter slugs fall through the standard Pellet magazine.

Also, here's the thing about Slugs, some brands (JSB/Edgun) fit perfectly in the slug magazines, while others fit too tight.
Yes, you can finger press in the tight slugs, and they'll shoot, but in my experience tight fitting slugs can have varying results.
You will need to search around, to find discussions on the best fit slugs in your caliber.

Thanks for posting this. I have ordered some ZEN slugs, simply because that is what EDgun sells on the EU site. I figured that has to work. I am also getting some dedicated pellet magazines. I will report back.

I will watch the video. But I am super not comfy wrenching on high pressure rifles. Just in general high pressure air. I am getting slugs and I am also getting some pellet mags as well. Thanks to the seller. If that won’t fix it I will just send it in.
it's not exactly wrenching on high pressure rifles. It's simple maintenance. The grub screws are not in the high pressure path by the way. If you want to become good friends with your Leshiy I recommend a minimum of investment in understanding how it works. Because from time to time you need to do some maintenance on it to keep it happy.
You can try with slugs, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't change anything for overrotation. Except when you would load slugs that are a lot heavier than the pellets you use now.
So I'd still recommend to tighten the grub screw a little, until the overrotation stops.

Okay. You have a point about learning the maintenance part.

But the previous owner, who is a long time member here, had no issues with it prior shipping. The box arrived in good condition. Definitely no visible shipping damage. This rifle has barely been used. It looks no different from a brand new unboxed rifle. I might try tightening the grub screw but first I will wait for the pellet mags and for slug ammo so I can try both. I will report back here.

You not an isolated issue.
The mistakes most people do is - cranking up the Reg not checking the Jets. The result is - the mag ->advancing faster then the projectile left the nest.
This more common with short 250 or 350 barrels...
The point is - if you need a higher projectile speed - you need to put the Reg and the Jets in balance.
Can talk about about .30 alone but pretty much this is a "no pain rule" just for any calibre.
Not sure what is your Reg at this moment, but start with 2x0.7 or 0.8 jets. If you don't fix the mag advancing issue you may damage the mechanism plastic parts.

EDgun West has a plethora of Leshiy 2 tutorial videos that will help you to become comfortable at maintenance and repair of your Leshiy 2.
