Tuning Leshiy 2 fx barrel accuracy?

How does everyone feel about current accuracy using fx barrels? I am enticed by the fact I can use standard sized slugs instead of having to buy larger size (and smaller selection) for the alpha barrels. I also like the idea of being able to swap liners and barrel sizes. I know they haven’t been an option for long, but I watched some sub12 videos, and he was having accuracy issues originally, but I’ve seen others that do well.
Have the accuracy issues been solved by updated adapters? Are they any better or worse than factory barrels?

Thanks in advance.

I have used both a .25 cal 600mm and a .30 cal 600mm FX barrels.along with Sub-12 L2 adapters. My rifle is currently set up as a .30 cal 600mm FX barreled beast, delivering 923 FPS/94.9 FPE average over 10 shots. I can honestly say that the gun is more accurate with both of the FX barreled setups than it was with the original barrels, in both calibers. From an accuracy standpoint my L2 is significantly more accurate than it was before. I have verified this with the 44.8 and 50.2 grain JSB pellets as well as with the NSA 54 grain slugs.

This is great news. Thanks guys. I have a 500mm .30 barrel on the way, and an adapter to go with it. Can’t wait to set it up and see how it turns out. I’m also figuring I’ll get bigger speeds with the longer barrel, and it should be quieter to boot.
You’ll definitely get better/higher speeds with the longer barrel. In my case, changing nothing but the barrel, my speeds using the 50.15 grain .30 cal JSB pellet went from 821 FPS with the 350mm barrel to 923 FPS with the 600mm FX barrel.

Yes on both counts, I'm sure you'll be happy. I saw someone had put an FX assembly into a Leshiy 2 but didn't know how, i made an adapter using a modified FX transfer port. Then drew up that adapter, posted about it and Geoff from sub-12 saw it made a couple versions and made it perfectly. Clever guy no doubt, what made it work accurately was his idea to make it juuuust slightly over bore size. So I'm not the first (fx in leshiy) but I more or less designed that adapter.

Yup. You were the guy I got the whole idea of doing it from, and you pointed me to Geoff to buy the adapters.

That’s awesome. I’m really excited to try the fx setup. Will be nice being able to use standard sized slugs instead of ordering specially from avs. North that his slugs aren’t great, but I like options!
IIRC, wasn't the issue with certain slug diameters, which was a majority of them, falling out of the magazine? Also, I believe Ed had revisions made to the new magazines to keep the slugs from falling out. I guess what I'm trying to get at is, are you referring to a magazine issue to keep the slugs from falling out or an accuracy issue and having the properly sized slugs?

It’s not the magazine I’m worried about. For the most part, my mag stays on the gun, so the slugs stay put. It was always about needing larger diameter slugs for the alpha barrels, or accuracy suffered. Avs makes a .303 slug for this reason. I think nsa is coming out with a similar size also, but with a fx barrel I can use hy ride, zan, varmint knockers, or a plethora of other slugs available that just aren’t as stable to longer distances out of the leshiy due to diameter.

Indeed it's a gamer changer for the guns versatility 👌

So I recieved my fx barrel, and decided to test it in the L2. It won’t fit! The barrel diameter is larger than the inside diameter of the L2. It goes in about half way, then you can feel it stiffen up. Like it’s slightly tapered. Can’t push it in all the way. Has anyone else had similar issues?
Yeah one of mine I had to sand ever so slightly to fit. The 700 and 600 didn't need that for me but a 500 did. I touched up the bluing with Birchwood casey super blue.

Where do you get the adaptors? Is there a video that shows how this works? Just received my Badger configuration. I would like to get a 450mm or 600mm 22 cal barrel. Non available.
A number of people make the adapters. I believe that Huma makes them, as does DonnyFL. Geoff from Sub12Airgunners in the UK also makes them and that’s where I got mine. I have them in .22, .25 and .30 and they work perfectly. Try messaging Jeffman here on AGN.
