So I’ve adjusted my reg 3 times since I bought it. This has been pretty spread out in the 8-10 months of ownership. First I went from factory (or Brian setup) reg pressure of 135b to 150b to get speeds up to the 850fps I wanted for backyard friendliness. Ifs a .22 with 350mm barrel, and still has the dogbone and collar installed.
so after that, I raised the pressure again to 160b. Within a week, it had come back down to 145b and stayed there consistently. Again I left it because it was shooting just fine.
lastly, 2 days ago, I raised it to 170b. I was playing around with higher velocities to try some slugs. I didn’t get to shoot it after I raised it for a couple days. When I finally did (gauge read 170b before session), it came right back down to 145b for the whole session and didn’t budge.
Did I screw up the reg by not firing it after raising the pressure? Is the reg not functioning properly? Is this a normal part of break in?
on all my other rifles, I’ve never needed to readjust like this after getting to my desired pressure. I know the repr is a completely different animal, but I also know there’s growing pains com8ng with it.
thanks in advance for any help.
