Leshiy 2 vs Maverick

Do you have a 600mm barrel on the L2? And, have you tried the new slug magazine’s so you will be able to shoot the hybrids, nsa or any other slug in the .30 range and not the .303.
What game are you hunting out to 100 yards with? What is your setup with the L2 and what are you trying to achieve? Of course accuracy but is there ft/lb you’re trying to reach? The Maverick Sniper is up to around 116 ft/lbs while the L2 doesn’t give a ft/lbs rating in a 600mm barrel.

I do have 600 mm barrel. I’ve killed both coyote and turkey with it. I have reg set at 150 with the new huma reg installed… I have been running the nsa slugs sized for normal mag…have slug mags on order. The coyote had a full pass on his head. At about 50 yards. Just feel like I should/could do better at 100. Group wise

@cparkerfishing your setup seems extremely close to mine. 600mm, new Huma regulator, regulator is set to 133 and I have the slug magazines. I usually only hunt with the L2 at 50 yards and under although I know I could go out further. I like the L2 because of its ability to provide a follow up shot with just a pull of the trigger.
I had a Maverick previously but couldn’t justify having that as well as an M3. The Maverick is and will definitely be much more easy to tune and has the ability to reach out like an Impact. Another suggestion would be the FX Wildcat BT which has about the same energy and can also shoot well at a distance and is just as easy to tune as the Maverick but in a smaller setup.
As was suggested earlier, the Impact would for sure be the top option if your wanting to stay in the FX family. With the NSA slugs and my second regulator set to @140 bar, the fps is at 1020fps and shoot’s phenomenal groups at 100 yards (originally a .35 which I change back and forth with .30).
As you can see just from the responses, there are many options for that 100 yard hunter. Each of us has a personal preference and we each are most likely biased towards the rifles we each own. Definitely wish there was a way for shooters looking for a new rifle to test a few at either a range or local shop but those are few and far between. Best of luck in your journey and I’m sure you will get a few more options to look at.

Not to side track but I’m confused. You already have a L2 30 why would you need another to shoot slugs ?
I guess I should be more specific. I’m looking to get a dedicated slug shooter. I have a bunch of barrels jets etc for L2. I could buy a naked Leshiy currently and interchange all my parts for various calibers and keep my current L2 the way it is and just shoot slugs. My question is… is there a better gun to do so.

Following your post since I, too, want to learn more about shooting slugs. I have a Leshiy 2 REPR .30 cal 350mm alpha barrel and the FX Maverick Compact 500mm .25 cal. The .303 NSA's for the stock L2 mags were shooting way off for me like 4 ft higher within 40 yards (WTF??? LOL) compared to my JSB 50.15gr zero. It feels like the .303 slugs were way too tight. I recently purchased the new L2 .30 cal slug mags. Hoping to get some standard sized .30 cal slugs and FX hybids to test out using the new .30 mags.

What’s been your experience with RTI
So far so good. I bought the rifle from Talon Tunes. Tony is a great guy to deal with. I'm still in the experimenting stage with the rifle. It is easy to tune for whatever ammo you are shooting at the time. Basically you set the reg to the pressure you want and you turn in the hammer spring till it stops increasing in fps then you back off the hammer spring 30 fps and that will give you the best balance for your tune. And if you feel your shooting to fast for the ammo your shooting just lower your reg pressure a little and start the process again.

I have a Maverick 600mm on consignment at the local store. If it does not sell within the month it will be converted to a 30 cal.
We have had 3 Mavericks and i actually prefer the platform over the M3 for tinkering. Accessing the regs on the M3 is a PITA.
I will live with the ping again before I own another air gun that requires the bottle to be removed to access the first reg and then have to manipulate the wrench around the trigger to get to the second one. M3’s are very nice to shoot but the design leaves some to be desired.
