Let's see those 2240 builds!

How does one resist the urge to sink hundreds of dollars into a 2240?

I have resisted so far. Sank too much money into a 1377 some years back. It worked well, but I still had to pump it. Got a 2240xl in december, so it already had the steel breech. Did the trigger spring mod and it is shooting nice, but wasting a bit of CO2. Going to try and limit myself to just a new hammer spring. It is slippery, try not to fall in the hole...

Just finished this one up. Custom tube i made from a cut down fortitude tube i had used the rear section on another build. It's a bit longer than a 2400 tube.

Uses a disco valve. Prod trigger and magnum airpower poly core hammer. Made a breech riser from aluminum. Cut a 2240 barrel down to 6" and has a Prod air stripper and a couple small baffles. Decently quiet when around 10 fpe, but it barks when cranked up. 20 fpe out of a 6 inch barrel is going to be loud lol.

Zebrawood sport grips from Alchemy Airwerks. David makes some damn good parts. These grips fit the frame with zero wiggle like some others I've had. I just need to put the extended stainless probe in it and it'll be 100%.
Nice. How much psi fill it. And how many shots, thanks

You could just cut a few coils off of the existing spring. Will drop like 20fps but increases shot count.

A very custom 2240 rifle I built 5 years ago for my brother. Slovenian poly barrel (25 cal) 600mm long, Remington pb trigger ass'y. Exclusive action modified to 25 cal. Set to 48 fpe but have more left in if desired. My brother did the stock final shaping so it fit him very well. Ten shot group @ 40 yards, sorry it's pic heavy.

Thanks, it has a couple of flaws, but I'm learning as I go. Safety catch cut out is off center and grip pad toe I took too much wood out. May redo grip cap so it's not protruding too much forward.
I’ve never built anything I was completely happy with….and I’ve built things all my life. Your pistol stock is beautiful..flaws and all. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects. John

Rare Custom Whitewolf Hunter. 1 of 20 made back in 2000. Custom RB grips. Topped off with a Leopold scope with RWS steel adj rings.

450.00 back in 2000

Whitewolf Hunter LE
The 2240s that are in my signature, are of the highest accuracy and power that can be attained from a 2240 whle keeping both.

The pistol has had a trigger job where pull is less than 2.5 lbs, the bbls are from early 80 circ 1322 which have be accurized thru crowning, lapping and internal polishing. All ports are tear drop polished and matched to each other for optium power. Hammer and valve spring are matched to achieve full power while retaining easy cocking effort, and optium accuracy. The valve is modified with an angled tear drop expansion chamber within the valve, and polished out to a mirror finish. The bolt has an extention probe which places the pellet at the correct seal point of the rifleing. This is matched to the gun. The breech is that of a Crooked Barn product ( I worked with Jim Giles and Ron Sauls upon the design and working concept of the breech, years ago) On the side of the breech is laser engraved Whitewolf Hunter (Maple Leaf) and a serial #.

Cosmetically the gun has had ever part polished out. The grip frame has had all mold lines removed. And the tube bbl trigger sear hammer end caps all recieve a electroless nickle plated finish. The finish is a maxium of .003 in thickness and of industrial hardness. The grips are from R B Grips, The wood was choosen by me and a few changes from Ralphs orignial design changed. Crosman USA was so inpressed with them that Ralph has been supplying them to their custom products shop. The pot metal frame and aluminum breech and muzzle break have been lightly bead blasted to acheive a satin type look and the clear coated. The break keeps muzzle flip to a controled level for accuracy.

The accuracy of the gun being designed for hunting purposes is Loonie size @ 50 yrds. The 9.75"bbl is far more accurate than the shooter.
When I was contracted to build these pistols only 4 remain in Canada. The proto type which is mine and 3 others which belong to my sons, the rest have been sold else where in the world.
The power level of this gun is 680 fps to 720 fps depending upon pellet and ambient tempurature.

Purchased this off a member who was selling his departed father's collection. It's a great build and simply wanted to improve on his vision. I installed this stock but was not happy with it as it was heavy and had tons of play. I removed it and found new hardware to include shims to remove the wobble and decided i could live with the weight. Than it turned into this. A complete teardown and mod. Turned and installed a light hammer with short heavy hammer spring, replaced the stock valve with a ported valve that came off of a poor excuse of a hipac conversion where the mounting bolts berley had threads to grab and would only trust with co2. Now has a rapid but wide open cycle. Was only getting 425fps before and the dwell was way too long, maybe factory. Hoping to chronograph over 470 for 2 mags.
