Not what I need but when I saw this post I went out and bought one. I agree, this is a decent quality pumper that is very easy to pump, nice looking, decent accuracy and high on the fun side to shoot. Just very different to shoot than my other pumpers.Thank you everyone for your comments and pictures of some awesome pumpers!
I think this 1866 Barra should not be overlooked. Cheap plastic rifle but fun to shoot especially with my grandson. Good power and quite accurate. It is a great design and would be the sweetest MPP ever made if a company made a serious high quality version of it. View attachment 447458
I guess that would mean you’ve reached the guns max pressure, or the hammer spring is weak.I managed to get a pair of these on eBay. This one is really nice, but the other was just a bunch of parts in poor condition held together with zip ties. Neither one worked, but I did an alcohol flush on this one and after a few hours it started holding air.
I haven’t had enough time to really wring it out yet, but I was getting velocities of around 630 fps with 18.1 JSB’s. After about 12 pumps it stops dumping all its air, but I think that will improve with use.

I suspect it’s the hammer spring. I was hoping it would resolve itself as the lubricant penetrated and parts got used to moving again, but it only got worse with use. It won’t dump more than 2 or 3 pumps now.I guess that would mean you’ve reached the guns max pressure, or the hammer spring is weak.
I do my Sheridan research here. How does one find the year of birth for Sheridan's please?
