One other point of safety. When hunting or woods walking, I would recommend on a barrel cocker, to NOT “cock and load“ your springer upfront. It’s to easy to forget and this leaves the gun ready for an accident or potential damage to the spring. Simply break the barrel and load the pellet. Cradle it that way or close it. Now a simple cocking and it’s in the ready. If forgotten, no harm done.
