Leupold visit

Monday, on the way back to Tacoma from a trip to Oregon I stopped at Leupold in Beverton OR. I dropped off a 12X scope to have a mildot reticule installed and parallax changed to 12 yards. Evidently I have an old model so the custom shop guy said he would have to check to see if they had a reticule that would fit. After checking he said he did and all was well. When I got home someone from the custom shop called saying they could not put a reticule in the old scope. Expecting to hear the lady say they would send it back she instead said the warranty would allow me to get a new scope with everything installed. Something like this happened several years ago and Leupold furnshed me with a new scope. They really stand buy their product. I have six of their scopes and I will continue to buy Leupold scopes. Next is a 3X9 EFR for my CZ 22rf. Thanks, Scott

Great stuff... I had a similar experience with them last year. I bought a VX11 off of Optics Planet on Leupold's recommendation... long story short, the Leupold customer rep emailed me the wrong model number (non-EFR).

After a couple months, I finally decided to swap scopes on my Wildcat and mount the new Leupy. I quickly realized that it would not focus at short distances. I called Optics Planet to see if I could exchange, and the answer was 'NO'. So, I gave Leupold a call and they said, bring it in. (I live ~5miles from them). They exchanged the scope for the EFR model which included the wind-plex reticle and CDS (custom dial system). This scope is normally $100 more... however, no additional charge for me.

Great company, great scope, and just perfect for my .25 cal Wildcat.

Update on the Leupold scope. As I said someone called me Tuesday evening to tell me the good news about the new scope. The next day, Wednesday, I called back asking if the scope would have a matte finish and they said yes. I asked how long untill delivery and they said 3-4 weeks. Ok by me. That was Wednesday around noon. Lo and behold the next day, Thursday around noon, UPS delivers the scope! So the scope had to be already mailed when I called Wednesday I would think. Parallax adjusted to 25 yards and mil dot reticule installed with target knobs. Great company! Later, Scott

When I went to gunsmith school in Lakewood, CO in 1988 we(students) got to buy two scopes, deeply discounted, from Burris in Greely, CO plus offered a factory tour. I had ordered a 6 X 18 Fullfield but wanted a different reticle then what was offered. I asked before the tour if they could do what I asked, and the salesman replied he would try. By the end of my tour the salesman said he would send the scope shipped free tomorrow. No cost for shipping and no charge for the reticle replacement and refill of nitrogen. At that time they made all of their scopes in house. I still to this day look to see what Burris offers before I look at what the others have to offer. For the money they are a great scope!
