N/A Life time gun?

Hi guys! Now that I’ve gotten the son & laws notos shipped off, I’m saving to get my son a hunting/ target pcp. My son is more of a hunter so this pcp will be used a lot more than son& law. My son loves my hunting pcps, and has experience with mine. So I’m looking for a reliable accurate and powerful and easy to maintain PCP for him. I want to get him something he can eventually give to his children. I’m thinking something in 30cal. So he can hunt hog to squirrel. So what would be the rifle you would buy? That’s the question of the day. Thanks for your input guys have a great day!

A Raw hm1000x 30 would be a good start. We'll build, set and forget with an outstanding trigger and accurate as hell. Laminated or chassie stock. Very hard to beat.

Agreed! the Brk rifles just work well! I was able to shoot a Sahara .22, and I should have bought it then. What a nice shooting rifle. The ranger is also a nice rifle, shot one of those also! sweet trigger on both of the Brk. I'm going to make my choice on a new to me rifle this winter.

I do not think there is a .30 caliber air rifle that could be a legacy rifle and be passed on to the next generation. It would need to be a very simple rifle, with easily available or easily reproduced parts and commonly available seals. If there was Benjamin M-Rod in .30 caliber. I am pretty sure just as my 70 years old Marlin 39A will still be shooting 100 years from now, my M-Rods, probably as well. Tall order, hunting rifle, legacy capable, can take a hog down and in .30 caliber, hmmmph, dunno of any. It seems air gunners think a rifle designed more than yesterday ago is an antique.

Edit to add, ya know, maybe an Air Force product?

The only airguns that will be functional or at least worth owning by the time they get passed down to children are springers. I still have my favorite springer from 1983. I won’t have my greatest PCP ten years from now. It will either be obsolete or you’ll have to custom build every part to fix it.

Many many PCPs can last a lifetime. You will however have to get maintenance done through the years.

You need to figure what configuration is best; bullpup or traditional. Also the caliber that makes most sense.

Airmaks, Kalibrgun, RAW, Daystate, BRK, FX are several that would fit the bill.
