N/A Lightest hand pump

I pump alot, and I hike alot. Sometimes bringing a buddy tank isnt on the menu. Over the years ive noticed the hand pumps ive bought have gotten lighter, and able to put out more psi. I'd say the various china 4 uncles pumps are light but i bet you guys know something even better.

What's the lightest hand pump on the market capable of 4500 psi?

I don't know if it is the lightest, but the huben is way lighter than the gx I have. Course way more expensive too

My hill hand pump mk4 with desiccant filter is pretty light weight i converted it to a hand booster pump i feed low pressure air through the low intake side. Fills way faster and way less pumps.

The hill is a great pump, but man is it a porker at about 6 lbs. The Huben is closer to 2.5 lbs and may very well be the lightest on the market, atleast from my research. But dang these Hubens are expensive for a handpump. I'm hopeful you guys know of something light but not wallet breaking.

The Huben was the lightest pump I was able to find. Mine weighs just over 2 lbs according to my bathroom scale. Most others are around 5 lbs. It also pumps to 5000 psi. It's the best option I have managed to find if you want to use a PCP as a lightweight camping/backpacking gun.

I'd like to find an even smaller, lighter pump but so far as I know none exist.

I never bought one, but my research says Huben. Everything else is going to be a compromise. I have heard very favorable reports on them too. Good luck on your search!

One other possibility I've wondered about is the feasibility of using a carbon fiber reservoir bottle as a fill tank. Sure, there are 90 ci fill bottles, but with the valve and charging apparatus they weigh 5 lbs or more. If one were to use say a 700cc valved bottle and could adapt some sort of compact, lightweight fill adaptor to it then that would work well too.

The issue with any size bottle.. As soon as you crack that valve open you will no longer get full 4500 psi so any pump can do higher if not lighter weight

That’s absolutely true, but from what I’ve seen another problem with existing fill bottles are their valves. All the ones I’ve seen seem to use very large and heavy scuba style valves. A lightweight bottle with a lightweight valve won’t be able to give unlimited shots like a pump, but it might be able to give a few hundred which is pretty good.

They are expensive. Would like to try one. I figure it will take longer to fill since it goes to such a high pressure and compresses a small amount of air in order to make the effort easier.
