After much study on Sunday night I ordered a Diana Stormrider and from Ebay a cheap hand pump. I hope I have not made a mistake. I don't think the rifle is a mistake but I am worried about the pump deal. Before I got sick I would not be worried the effort to pump up a gun. The reason for the Diana was the smaller size tank. I hope smaller tank more pressure.

With the Benjamin I still can't get good groups. It will out of the blue shoot 3 or 4 in .25inch and the next four will be all over the place. it might be shooting a shotgun pattern then settle down and place four in the same hole and then splatter the next few shots. I replaced the breach seal and locktighted the screws and it is the same thing.

The F4 is a waste of pellets. Which is a shame cause I really like the way it fits me.

The Hatsan keeps getting better. I still hate the trigger but outside of that it is a great gun.

My lovely said I could buy what I want but I must sell some. I will be selling two rifles soon if I can.

Been trying to figure out the scuba tank deal. I have found some tanks for sale cheaply. They are made of alumium not carbon fiber. I must study some more.I don't want to buy something I can't use.

Thanks , Thats my talking for today.

God Bless

Bobby

Stormrider is a great gun for the money. I had two; .177 and .22. I don't know if the triggers are the same on the newer ones but I found making it a single stage, (pin across the group behind the trigger itself) made the break more predictable.

Before you buy any tank, check with your local filling source about what they can fill to. Most all paint ball shops can fill to 3000psi and most certainly dive shops.

Aluminum tank is what you want if you go with SCUBA. Much lighter than steel tanks. Know there are some tanks that are NOT 3000psi. Rare but out there. Make sure it has a recent hydro. The carbon or SCBA, is the way to go in the way of tanks. They can be filled to 4500 as opposed to the 3000 on the SCUBA, giving more fills to your gun. When considering one of these, know that they have a lifespan of refilling of 15 years. The date of manufacture will be on the tank. Also know they too require a hydro within 5 years. If buying one used, post a picture of the label found on the SCBA tank here and most anyone can explain the numbers. That also goes for the SCUBA tanks just to be on the safe side.

Best of luck!

You mention that you have a Hatsan that you like but has a bad trigger. You might want to check out YouTube. There are a bunch of videos on there that show various hacks for improving Hatsan triggers and most of them are quite simple. I was able to take the pull down on one of mine to a very stable 2 pounds. It took me about an hour to get it to where I wanted it and to make sure it was safe by doing some bump tests on it. Safety is the key here as it is easy to create an unsafe trigger if you try to overdo it.

If your Benjamin will shoot three or four through a 1/4 inch hole I would suggest to you that it can shoot.

Place a piece of tissue paper over the breech area and shoot the gun if it moves fix the leak at the bolt or breech seal area.

Try some different pellets.

Clean the barrel really good.

Check the barrel for burrs at the breech and crown ends.

Adjust your hammer spring tension to shoot a little bit slower/faster.

Check your scope mounts and scope for tightness.

Put another scope on it to check for scope problems.
