Long term "Airgun" ? project!

So I'm not sure if this project will ever make it through to a final assembly but I just thought I'd make a thread for it.

Everyone is asking what I'm making, and to be honest I don't know yet. Just follow along and see what we can make.

It started with a guy that wanted me to make him a line launcher for a boat but then we started talking about maybe being able to launch a projectile at pirates on the ocean and it sparked an interest in what I might be able to make for him. Because a PVC tater cannon wasn't going to cut it.

Here's what I have so far.

3"x6"x12" 6061 aluminum billet.

And a 36" long piece of 316 Stainless tube that is 2" of and about 1.5 id.

That's a Benjamin Bulldog .357 reciever on top of it for scale.

Well ladies and gentlemen we have rifling.

1 in 70 twist rate. Grooves are about .010in deep.

I know it's dirty but it's been a long day. I'll polish tomorrow.

Bigbore BB Gun! Giant BB Canon? A 1 in 70 twist tells me it is it is a huge round ball. Possibly a ball bearing gun? Air cannon?

1.55 Cal. Over 5000 gr in weight.
If I can get this little guy moving 800 fps it will be over 7000 fpe.

Can anyone confirm that this might be the world's largest air rifle? I know I've seen larger air guns but not with a rifled barrel.

If it is the biggest one in Texas, its safe to say its the biggest in the United States (because no other state has the rednecks needed to do this). If it is the biggest in the U.S., it is safe to say it is the biggest in the world (because no other country has Texan rednecks)!
